Did you know your body has an automated "stress valve" built directly into your lungs?

It’s called the Physiological Sigh—a double-inhale followed by an extended exhale. When we’re busy, stressed, or focusing intently on work, tiny air sacs in our lungs (alveoli) collapse, causing carbon dioxide levels in our bloodstream to rise slightly and quietly signaling tension to our brain.

When you take two quick inhales through the nose, followed by one long, slow exhale through the mouth, those air sacs immediately pop back open, rapidly purging CO2 and dropping your heart rate within seconds.
