Bristol has just made UK history! 🙌
Its city council voted 8 to 1 to ban fast fashion adverts from council-owned spaces, including billboards, bus shelters and digital screens, making it the first UK local authority to target fast fashion ads👚
The ban also covers ads for fossil fuel companies, airlines, cruise holidays and SUVs. As Deputy Council Leader Heather Mack put it, “We don’t want Bristol to be a billboard for polluters while we’re working hard to improve health, air quality and nature in the city.”
More than 20 UK councils already restrict ads for polluting industries, and it’s a hopeful sign that big change can start with a simple “not here”. It’s also a nudge to love what’s already in our wardrobes for longer 🤩

🍎On the Sunshine Coast, one new warehouse is tackling both food waste and food insecurity!
OzHarvest has moved to a bigger hub at K***a Park, part of a network that moves more than 20,000kg of quality surplus food a month to 45 local charities 🚛
The hub even opened as OzHarvest delivered its 65 millionth meal in Queensland (woohoo)!

Something we’ve been working on… because of YOU! 👀
We’re developing our own toothpaste + sunscreen and so much of what’s going into them comes directly from YOUR feedback ❤️
For the toothpaste, so many of you have asked for a fluoride-free option, so we’ve chosen to add hydroxyapatite as an alternative (a mineral naturally found in our teeth with great research behind it).
So right now the toothpaste wishlist is:
✨ Fluoride-free
✨ Hydroxyapatite for remineralisation, cavity prevention & enamel support
✨ Supports healthy gums
✨ Waste-free packaging
✨ Smooth texture (not gritty)
✨ A fresh mint flavor that isn’t too intense
For the sunscreen, our wishlist is BIG:
☀️ Mineral-based UV filters
☀️ SPF 50+
☀️ As little white cast as possible
☀️ Lightweight on the skin
☀️ NO greasy feeling
☀️ Ingredients we love using every day
This is our very first sample, so we’re still in the development phase, which means this is the perfect moment to hear from you again!
What is non-negotiable for YOU in a toothpaste or sunscreen?
Tell me everything. 👇🏼 We’re making a huge wishlist and taking it with us into the next round of samples. 🤍

🍓Spring is here, and the produce aisle is one of the easiest places to start living a little greener!
Eating seasonally isn’t about overhauling your whole fruit bowl or crisper overnight. It’s about picking up what’s naturally in season, because it tastes better, costs less, and asks less of the planet to grow 🌱
👀 Check out a few of our favourite spring fruits & veggies (there’s plenty more we didn’t fit in)

Meet Tasmania’s newest gardeners... they work underwater! 🤿
Egalehawke Dive Centre near Hobart has trained its first team of divers to hand-plant giant kelp, strand by strand. 🤩
The divers are helping to regrow an underwater forest that has lost more than 95 per cent of its cover since the 1950s.
It’s cold, slow work, but it’s paying off. 👉 Head to the link in our bio to reach our latest Happy Earth News story and see how they’re bringing an ocean forest back to life!

👕 From 19 July 2026, large fashion retailers across Europe are officially banned from destroying unsold clothes, accessories and shoes!
Instead, they must sell, donate or prepare items for reuse. The rule follows estimates that 4 to 9 per cent of all new clothing in Europe is being destroyed before it ever reaches a customer (yikes!)
Closer to home, Australians buy over 1.51 billion new clothing items annually, and researchers are asking whether a similar rule could help here too 🤔

🔋Noosaville just switched on one of Queensland’s first community batteries!
The 360kWh system stores excess rooftop solar by day and shares it with the whole neighbourhood by night.
☀️The best part? Every house doesn’t need its own solar panels to benefit, since the battery feeds straight into the local grid.

👚Every year, mountains of clothing get thrown away, and most of it never gets a second chance.
Paris studio .brick has decided to build with it instead!
Founder Clarisse Merlet shreds old clothing, mixes it with a bio-based binder and presses it into bricks that are 81 per cent upcycled textile 🧱
The result has already dressed a Levi’s concept store, created window displays and even furniture (soooo cool)!

Imagine watching over half your country’s rainforest vanish, then bringing it roaring back to life... that’s exactly what Costa Rica did! 🇨🇷
After cattle ranching and logging stripped away much of its forest by the 1980s, the country banned uncontrolled deforestation in 1996 and began paying landowners to protect their land.
Funded by a tax on fossil fuels, the scheme has paid out more than $500 million over 20 years, saving over a million hectares of forest and helping plant seven million trees 🌳
Today, close to 60% of the country is forest once again, an achievement so remarkable it earned Costa Rica a prestigious Earthshot Prize (woohoo)!
