'My time as a swimmer taught me how important it was to fuel my body to train, perform, and recover.' 🏊♀️🥗
Through sport, Caitlin learnt early on that nutrition isn't just about what you eat, it's about giving your body the fuel it needs to perform at its best and recover effectively.
Today, she uses that experience to help clients understand the connection between nutrition and their individual health, wellbeing, and performance goals.
Whether you're an athlete, managing a health condition, wanting more energy, or simply looking to feel your best, the right nutrition can make a meaningful difference.
Dietetics services are available at Altaira Allied Health.💚

Would you like to learn more about the proposed NDIS changes to support your child’s development? Join this workshop designed for families, carers, and support coordinators of children with disability, which will explain what the changes mean and how to use your NDIS plan effectively. This session is facilitated by Physiotherapist and Director of Flipper Academy, Chelsea Marchetti, and Altaira Allied Health's Accredited Practising Dietitian, Caitlin McManus, bringing expert insights from both therapy and nutrition perspectives.
You’ll learn how funding decisions are shifting toward real-life outcomes, and how to apply this to your child’s supports. We’ll explore how to use funding for:
- aquatic therapy (Flipper Academy)
- dietetics and nutrition (Altaira Allied Health).
Importantly, we’ll explain why these supports matter. Aquatic therapy helps build strength, coordination, confidence, and water safety, while nutrition ensures your child has the energy, hydration, and nourishment needed to fully participate and progress. For many children, especially those with sensory challenges, getting the right nutrition can be difficult, which can impact their ability to engage in therapy. You’ll learn how these supports work best together to benefit your child.

How strong is your grip, and why does it matter? 💪
It can actually be a powerful predictor of your longevity and overall health!
While cheering on the Hectorville Football Club at a recent home game, our Altaira Allied Health clinicians put the team and crowd’s strength to the test.
Why does it matter?
- Total Body Check: Your grip reflects your overall systemic muscle function and full-body strength.
- Long-term Wellness: Lower grip strength is closely linked to a higher risk of chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
- Staying Active: For older adults, maintaining that physical strength is key to preserving mobility, independence, and staying in the game of life for longer.
At Altaira, we are passionate about helping our community stay strong, independent, and supported at every single stage of life, from the boundary line and beyond!
A massive shoutout to everyone who had a crack at our sideline grip strength competition! Huge congratulations go to our champion squeezers and prize winners:
⭐Strongest Grip Strength Legends: Rhys & Beth
⭐Physio/Wellness Package Winner: Rowan
Thanks to everyone who entered!
