so many people come in assuming lashes are one style, applied the same way to every client.
they’re not.
what’s actually happening in a set like this:
eye shape mapping: reading the shape in front of me, not defaulting to a template
natural lash assessment: length, density, direction, health, what the lashes can actually hold
eye plane: where the eye sits, how it curves, which changes how curl and length read on it
curl mixing: blending curls across the set to lift, open, or soften different areas instead of using one curl throughout
styling: placement and mapping built around all of the above, not a preset shape applied to everyone
it’s the difference between someone who applies lashes and someone who understands eyes.
that’s what makes a lash artist.
At this point she can find somewhere else for her brows 😂

let’s break down this eye shape and build in symmetry + lift
the vertical line sits just outside her pupil, right where her natural lashes start turning downward.
the horizontal line shows the inner and outer corners don’t align, giving her a downturned eye shape too.
my main goal here was to reduce the “sad eye” look and brighten + open things up with more evenness.
using lifting curls (cc, d, m) where the natural lashes drop and the brow bone opens up is exactly where your longest length should go 🤎
mascara on extensions ruins them. instantly.
• volume fans close up completely ruining the style
• the curl & shape is ruined due to weighing the lashes down
• lashes stick together making them unable to brush through and if you try, it’ll grab your natural lashes and pull them right out.
it also breaks down the bond faster and causes buildup at the base, which means possible infection or early lash fall out.
if you feel like you need mascara, that’s your sign to get a fill a week earlier, not reach for the tube. or chat at your next fill about switching up your style so you get that look without wrecking your set 🧚✨
If your lash sets look flat or mismatched against your client’s features, that’s a consultation problem, not a lash problem.
One style, one colour, one curl for every client isn’t a “signature look”, it’s a missed opportunity to keep clients coming back.
They’re not leaving because of the extensions. they’re leaving because nothing about their set was made for them.
