🐝🍯 A Very Special Milestone for Golden Goodness — Ekka 2026 🏆

We honestly don't know how to put this feeling into words. ❤️

Golden Goodness has won FOUR placings at Ekka 2026 — in the 150th anniversary year of the Royal Queensland Show! 🏆🥈🥉🥉

For a small family honey business like ours, this is a huge achievement and an incredibly proud moment.

Our results were:

🥈 2nd Place — Liquid Honey, Standard Colour Light Amber
🥉 3rd Place — Liquid Honey, Standard Colour Light Amber
🥉 3rd Place — Liquid Honey, Standard Colour Golden
🏅 4th Place — Yellow Beeswax

I still remember the moment I first checked the results online.
I looked at the list, and then I saw “Golden Goodness.”

For a few seconds, I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. I checked it again… and again… and again.

“Is this real?” I kept asking myself.
“Is that really our business name?”

It was one of those rare moments in life when you just sit there completely overwhelmed — excited, emotional, proud and almost speechless. 🥹❤️

After all the hard work, all the learning, all the doubts and all the little steps we've taken since we started… there it was — Golden Goodness on the Ekka winners' list.

I don't think I will ever forget that moment.

Sometimes you work so hard for something that, when it finally happens, you need a little time to believe that it's actually real. 🐝🍯🏆

But these achievements don't belong to us alone.

First, we want to thank our wonderful mentors. ❤️
When we started our beekeeping journey, we had so much to learn. They generously shared their knowledge, guided us, corrected us, encouraged us and taught us how to understand and care for our bees. So much of what we are today has come from their guidance. We are truly grateful.

And then, our beautiful customers. 💛

We genuinely believe these achievements belong to you too.

Every jar you have bought, every kind word, every recommendation, every returning customer, every encouraging message and every time you chose to support our little business — you have been part of this journey.

Without your support, we wouldn't be here celebrating this moment.

And then, of course, there are the real winners… our bees. 🐝❤️

We can look after them, manage the hives and carefully prepare their honey and beeswax, but at the end of the day, they are the ones who created the magic.

They worked tirelessly, flower by flower, bringing us the beautiful honey and beeswax that made it onto the Ekka judging table.

Our bees won. 🐝🏆

For us, this achievement is about so much more than four ribbons.

It represents all the early mornings, long days, learning, mistakes, hard work, patience and love that have gone into building our business from the beginning.

We are still a small business, doing things on a small scale and putting our heart into every jar. So to see Golden Goodness among the winners at Ekka during its 150th anniversary feels almost unbelievable.

We are thrilled, humbled, proud and incredibly grateful. 🥹❤️

"Honey is just honey."

We hear this quite often, and honestly, we understand why.

Most people have never had the opportunity to sit down and taste 8 or 10 different genuine raw honeys side by side. If you've never experienced that, it's easy to think that all honey tastes the same.

But here's the wonderful surprise...

Honey is not just honey.

Just like coffee, wine, olive oil, or cheese, every honey has its own personality.

🍯Some are beautifully sweet.
🍯Some are rich and bold.
🍯Some are light and delicate.
🍯Some are wonderfully floral.
🍯Some have a silky smooth texture, while others naturally crystallise more quickly.

The difference comes from where the bees forage. Different flowers create different honeys, and every apiary tells a different story.

That's exactly why we keep our honey from each apiary separate instead of blending it all together. We offer honey from five different apiary locations, each harvested separately and never blended together.

Each location has its own unique floral sources, colour, aroma, flavour, and story. That's why we keep every honey separate—from the hive to the jar.

Could we blend everything together and make life easier? Absolutely.

But then we'd lose what makes each honey so special. We believe the unique character of each honey deserves to be preserved. Every jar tells the story of the flowers the bees visited. A macadamia farm tells a different story from tea tree, bushland, or coastal blossoms. When you taste honey from different locations, you are tasting different parts of nature.

Keeping every honey separate means much more work behind the scenes:
🐝 Travelling to each apiary
🐝 Maintaining the hives individually
🐝 Harvesting separately
🐝 Extracting separately
🐝 Labelling and storing each batch separately.
It takes much more time, planning, and cost, but we believe it's worth it.

We know this isn't the way most people buy honey, and that's perfectly okay. That's why we always encourage people to meet us before making up their mind.

🐝Let us explain what makes each one unique.

Then decide whether our honey is worth it.

We never expect people to choose our honey based on words alone. We simply ask you to experience it first.

I am not saying you are perfect, and neither am I. We both have flaws. There are many things about me that you don't like, and there are things about you that I don't like either.

But love has never been about finding a perfect person. It's about choosing each other every single day, despite our imperfections.

For the past 21 years, our goal has always been the same. We have walked side by side through happiness and hardship, victories and disappointments, always moving forward together.

We've built a family, chased our dreams, and worked hard to build our little honey business. Every challenge has taught us something, and every success has been sweeter because we achieved it together.

Thank you for staying by my side through it all. I wouldn't want this journey with anyone else.

Today, one of our regular customers surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and wished me a belated Happy Birthday. 💐

I was completely speechless.

I never expected such a thoughtful gesture, and it truly touched my heart.

When we started this little honey business, we hoped to share our passion for bees and honey. We never imagined we would meet such kind, caring, and generous people along the way.

Moments like this remind us that our customers are so much more than customers—they become part of our journey and feel like our extended family.

Recently, few people asked for local raw honey in few different community Facebook group. Before we even had a chance to see the post, so many of you had already recommended our little honey business.

To every single person who mentioned our name—thank you. Your kindness truly touched our hearts.

Weekend Market Update 💛🍯

This Saturday, 25th of July we'll be at The Helensvale Farmers Market, and on Sunday, 26th of July we'll be at Cleveland Markets.

As many of you know, our big car broke down yesterday. We'll be coming with our small car this weekend, which means we'll have less stock than usual.

If you're planning to visit the markets especially for our honey, we kindly encourage you to come early. We'd hate for you to miss out or leave disappointed.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support while we work through this unexpected situation.

Also, I wanted to say something from the heart. Yesterday's incident gave us quite a fright, and I'm still a little shaken. If I don't chat as much as I usually do, or if my smile isn't quite as bright this weekend, please don't take it personally. I'm doing my best, and I hope you'll understand.

Thank you for standing by us through both the good times and the challenging ones. Your kindness and support mean more to us than words can say.
