If you sleep with a silk pillowcase or bonnet, your curls will naturally soften and relax over the next day or two, giving you a beautiful, effortless look without having to completely brush them out.

Running a business is hard. Really hard.

And honestly, I don’t think people always see what goes on behind the scenes.

They see the beautiful work, the smiling faces, the social media posts and the doors opening every day. But they don’t always see the sleepless nights, the constant stress, the financial pressure, the self-doubt and the moments where you sit there wondering how much more you can take.

As a small business owner, there is no switching off. The business follows you home. It’s in your thoughts when you wake up and often the last thing you think about before going to sleep.

You carry the responsibility of keeping everything going, paying the bills, supporting your team, looking after your clients and somehow still trying to keep yourself together at the same time.

There have been moments where I’ve felt overwhelmed, exhausted and completely defeated. Moments where I’ve questioned whether I’m good enough and whether all of this hard work will ever pay off.

But despite how hard it can be, this business means so much to me.

I have poured my heart, my time, my energy and so much of myself into building this.

So if I seem quiet sometimes, please know it’s not because I don’t care. Sometimes I’m just trying to hold everything together.

Unfortunately, our small team has been hit hard with RSV and COVID these past few months. We completely understand that having your appointment changed can be frustrating, but we’re sure you can appreciate that we don’t want to risk spreading these viruses to our clients, team members or their families.

Working in such a highly public-facing industry means we can sometimes be more vulnerable to picking up these illnesses, and with a small team, we don’t always have the capacity to accommodate everyone as quickly as we would like.

To everyone who has shown us kindness, patience and loyalty during these challenging times, we truly appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for sticking by us and supporting our little team. ❤️
