WHY YOUR LIP BLUSH HEALS DIFFERENTLY THAN EXPECTED

One of the biggest misconceptions about lip blush is that choosing a colour means the healed result will look exactly like the colour you selected.

In reality, lip blush doesn’t work like applying lipstick. Every client starts with a different natural lip tone, undertone, skin tone, and level of pigmentation. These factors all influence the final healed result.

After your treatment, the pigment needs approximately 30–45 days to settle into the skin and go through the natural healing and colour transformation process. During this time, the colour may appear darker, lighter, warmer, or cooler before reaching its healed result.

Generally, lip blush pigments can be divided into two categories:

🧡 Warm/Orange-Based Tones
These are often used for clients with darker lip pigmentation, cool-toned lips, or mild lip discolouration. The goal isn’t simply to add colour — it’s to neutralise and correct the existing undertones first. Think of it as colour correction rather than colouring.

Once the unwanted dark or cool undertones have been softened and neutralised, the lips create a much cleaner canvas for the second session.

🩷 Pink-Based Tones
These are typically suitable for naturally lighter lips or clients who have already completed a neutralisation process.

For many clients, the first appointment is about correction and creating an even foundation. The second session is where we refine the colour and enhance the final result.

The goal is not an overly saturated lipstick effect, but soft, healthy-looking lips with a natural flush of colour — the effortless “your lips but better” look.
