Things your makeup artist wants you to know!

I get asked a LOT about how well the makeup will last on wedding days, and I always say the same thing.... how long is a piece of string?

So many factors will go into how well your makeup lasts, such as heat and humidity.. especially during certain months of the year in SE QLD, how much you’re wearing, and.... the most important factor, the condition of your skin.

Taking care of your skin and adopting a good skin care routine with atleast a 6 month lead time to your wedding day will assist with not only how well the makeup looks on your skin but also the longevity.
If you have any skin concerns leading up to your wedding day, please don’t look at the application of makeup as being the magic answer to these concerns.

The use of makeup, in some cases, requires a HEAVY application of certain products to try and hide these imperfections. This then creates a makeup look that is usually heavier than you would like because you’re trying to cover up the issues.

It is always best to address these issues with a skin specialist and create a skin care plan to help minimise and treat the concerns.

This way, your makeup application has a good starting point to build from, and your makeup looks as flawless and fresh as possible.

As always, keep in mind that seeing skin texture is completely NORMAL! You are a human being and you cannot erase that completely.. if you adopt a skin care routine, seek the advice from a professional and have realistic expectations, your off to a great start for a beautiful bridal makeup application.
