A little update from me 🤍

My appointments will be a little more limited over the next few weeks as I navigate a family emergency, which will mean travelling between work and Victoria as I’m needed.
•
Sometimes life throws curveballs and you’ve simply gotta to do what you’ve gotta do.
•
The girls in both salons are more than capable of looking after you — and honestly, you may even like them more than me 😉 I just ask for a little patience and understanding if I need to rearrange days or appointments while I find the balance between both.
•
I’m incredibly grateful for my HC family and for everyone who has already reached out, checked in and been so understanding. It truly means more than you know ☺️🤍

That was literally the brief.
And honestly? It broke my heart a little because she’d already been through the disappointment of not getting what she asked for.

One thing I’ve learnt after 20 years behind the chair is that most clients don’t actually care about the fancy hairdresser terms.
•
They just want to feel heard.
They want to leave feeling like the person in the mirror matches the vision they had in their head (or in the inspo pic on their phone)
•
Sometimes that means saying:
✨ No, I wouldn’t do that.
✨ Here’s what I think happened.
✨ Here’s how we’re going to fix it.

Hair isn’t just hair. It’s confidence. It’s identity. It’s how you show up in the world.
So when someone sits in my chair and tells me they hate the copper and don’t want to see copper, I’m listening.

The goal wasn’t just to make her blonder.
The goal was to give her the result she’d been asking for.
That’s the stuff that still makes me love this industry after all these years. 🤍

There’s something about giving back that just hits different 🤍

Volunteering with has been one of the most humbling and perspective-shifting things I’ve ever added to my resume. Providing haircuts to those who may not have access to something so many of us take for granted… it changes you.
•
It reminds you that hair isn’t just hair.
It’s dignity. It’s confidence. It’s feeling seen.
•
I truly believe the best kind of humans aren’t just talented — they’re kind. They’re understanding. They can sit with people from all walks of life and meet them exactly where they’re at.
•
Hair Aid gave me more than just a purpose — it gave me a lifelong bestie (.architect). Someone who leads with heart, compassion, and the kind of energy this industry & world needs more of.

The best highlight; watching my mini step into this space too… 🥹
Giving up her time to do community cuts and show up for others — that’s the kind of stuff that makes me the proudest.
