A little something exciting is happening at Arlu this Friday 💖

I’m looking for one lovely client who would like to come in for a special afternoon appointment with us.

I’ve recently been chatting with a very experienced hairdresser about what it could potentially look like for her to spend some time working within Arlu Style House.

And rather than trying to work out whether something feels right just from conversations, I really want to give her the opportunity to actually experience Arlu properly.

So this Friday afternoon, I’m looking for someone available from around 1pm who is due for a beautiful colour appointment and has around 3–3.5 hours available.

Something like a lived-in colour refresh, foils, toner and cut/finish would be perfect.

This is not a student or discounted training appointment. She is a very experienced hairdresser, and you’ll still be booked through Arlu, looked after within the salon, and I’ll be there throughout the afternoon.

We originally planned to do a sleek, straight ponytail—but after doing a little more research and looking through some inspiration together, she fell in love with a softer, textured half-up style instead.

So we took the elements she loved and created our own variation to suit her hair, adding plenty of volume, movement and soft pieces around her face 🧡🩷

I need one model for each of these three transformations:

For someone wanting greater frizz control and a smoother, more relaxed finish while still retaining some natural movement.

🤍 3. Maximum Smoothing + Straightening
For someone wanting the greatest reduction in volume and resistant texture, creating the straightest result her hair can safely support.

I’m looking for three different hair types and goals so I can capture beautiful, honest before-and-after photos showing how customised these services can be.

Selected models will receive exclusive model pricing in exchange for:

✨ Returning for a progress check-in

Appointments may take approximately three to five hours, depending on your hair’s length, density, condition and desired result.

All potential models will require a consultation before being selected, as not every treatment or finish will be suitable for every head of hair.

To the staff who worked beside me while I was learning how the hell to lead people when I was still trying to lead myself.

And to everyone who has watched me open, close, move, rebuild, have babies, question everything and occasionally think…

What the f**k am I actually doing?

Because the woman you see today was built through all of it.

Back then, I didn’t always know what to say when something went wrong.

I didn’t always know when to say no.

I didn’t always have the knowledge I have now.

But I cared. A lot.

And I kept learning.

Today, you still don't get a perfect version of me.

You get someone who will listen.

Someone who will tell you when something isn't possible.

Someone who will hold your hand when you need it.

Someone who has invested an unbelievable amount of time, money and energy into becoming better at her craft — and becoming a better human along the way.

And lately, I've started quietly sharing this big f**king dream I have for Arlu.

That maybe this becomes more than one little salon.

Maybe we create beautiful spaces in little towns where women feel seen and cared for.

And maybe we create opportunities for other hairdressers so they don't have to spend 12 years figuring out everything I had to figure out alone.

That's the part that gets me.

Because suddenly, all those messy versions of me make sense.

23-year-old Eb couldn't have built what I'm dreaming about now.

But she had to exist for this version of me to get here.

And ten years from now?

I hope I look back at who I am today and think…

She still had so much to learn. But dam she had the guts

Because I never want to stop becoming. 🤍

Your consultation doesn’t end when your appointment starts. 🤍

Actually… those first 5–10 minutes are only the beginning.

At Arlu, I’m learning about your hair throughout your entire appointment.

I’m listening when you tell me how you actually style it at home.

I’m feeling how your hair behaves at the basin.

I’m watching how it responds as I colour, cut and blow-dry it.

I’m looking at what you're already using — and I'm not going to tell you to replace something that's already working just because I have something sitting on my shelf.

All of those little things give me clues.

Because I don’t want to prescribe your hair based on what I can see in the first five minutes.

I want to understand it.

And then, together, we build a plan.

One that considers your dream hair, but also your lifestyle, your budget, how often you actually want to come into the salon and what your hair can safely handle.

Sometimes that means we get there in one appointment.

Sometimes it means strengthening your hair first, changing one or two things at home, investing over a few appointments, or simply giving your hair time.

And sometimes the plan changes — because your hair changes.

That's why consultation isn't a conversation we have once.

It's something we continue every time you sit in my chair.

Observe. Educate. Plan. Adjust.

Because I'm not here just to make your hair beautiful for the photo at the end.
