Hi all! Happy Sunday! π
I'm doing some market research and planning for Ambrosia and I would LOVE your input!
What do you want from your nail appointment or nail technician? (Is there something that is lacking in your existing or previpus appointments that you wish was different?)
What would make it feel like an β¨ experience β¨ as opposed to a normal service? (Complimentary snacks, glass of wine/etc, choice of entertainment?)
Would you be interested in a mobile service that comes to your house?
What about after-hours appointments (late nights or early mornings?)
What is your preferred way to book and pay for an appointment?
What do you think of the idea of a subscription or packaged pricing for certain set services (examples include "X no. Of manis/pedis", or "ongoing guaranteed appointment timeslots" etc?
Thank you so much in advance, and my page is Ambrosia Nail Care if you're interested in tuning in for services π€β¨
Any other suggestions or comments would be super helpful βΊοΈ

πΌ So, What is Ambrosia, and Why? πΌ
(This post is a doozy, so flip through the images for the tl;dr!)
Ambrosia is quite a lot of things! I was surprised when I began properly researching what it was. At first I knew the most common definition to be that it was the food and drink of the Greco-Roman Gods in mythology, but it's so much deeper than just that! β‘οΈ
Ambrosia was also a Hyades Nymph, one a of a handful, but these nymphs raised the god Dionysius together from infant to adulthood. In one tale, Lycurgus (King of Thrace) banned the cult of Dionysius. He killed Ambrosia, who turned into a vine (the sacred plant of Dionysius). Dionysius then drove Lycrugus insane and as a result he killed his own son after mistaking him for a mature trunk of ivy while enacting revenge. πͺπ©Έ
Apparently, the nymphs were the ones who served the divinity at their feasts. π₯Ambrosia is detailed as a restricted substance, reserved only for divinity. It was described as both a food, and a drink, and as having properties of both a solid and a liquid. It was mentioned that it was consumed, and also used to polish their bodies, and had a distinct smell. π§΄
If a mortal consumed Ambrosia, it would turn their blood into Ichor and they would become immortal! (search the tale of Tantalus if you're interested). The gods needed to continue consuming Ambrosia to survive and stay at their peak. π§ββοΈ
One belief was that Ambrosia was honey, some historians have found that Ambrosia was believed to be 8/9 times sweeter than honey, but it does have the same qualities that Ambrosia was described to have! (I have my own theory π€). π―
What else?
It's a popular salad in the United States, a type of beetle, a type of plant, and a few other things. My favourite is bee bread, or bee pollen! π
Ambrosia is a ball or pellet of field-gathered flower pollen that is packed by worker honeybees and used as the primary food source for the hive. It's made of sugars, proteins and other stuff and is stored in brood cells and sealed with a drop of honey πΌ
Why Ambrosia?
Ambrosia is a representation of nourishing yourself to maintain your own peak performance and the feeling of your own inner divinity. It's also a key step in the creation of honey and lifecycle of one our planets VIPs! π₯
Let me, and the bees, help you feel at your peak, and bring out your inner divinity! π

3rd Prac!
This was supposed to be done with forms but my client needed short nails for work purposes, and I really appreciate their time coming in for me π₯°
Some time soon I hope to practice more at home when I get some more materials which will be so fun!

First Prac at TAFE π₯³
This was my first set of builder gel and it was sooo sticky, that I only had 1 hand completely done! π―π
The feedback I received was that I need to refine my final shaping, and that I spent too long trying to perfect it too early in the process that I ended up wasted time.
That being said, I have a truly fantastic teacher and I couldn't be happier with my learning experience so far. She always gives critiques in a helpful way, offering to demonstrate exactly what it is I'm struggling with to better our technique. βΊοΈ
She reminds us that she wants us to make these mistakes so that it creates an opportunity to learn from them, and shares experiences of her own in the process. ππ»β¨
I am now buying a builder gel on clearance or special from somewhere so that I can practice. π

Much love, and stay divine β¨

β¨Welcome to Ambrosia Boutique Nails!β¨
I want to start by thanking each and every person who has taken the time to follow my page!
As some of you know, I have finally taken the leap and started my Certificate III in Nail Technology with TAFE Queensland after the longest time of 'um-ing & ah-ing' about it, and doing my own nails for about 3 years at this point. π€
It all began by trying to save some money; first I did Dip Powder on myself, since it was the easiest to achieve at home! I then graduated to doing Gel on myself as I felt as though I needed a change.
This is definitely a passion project - going to TAFE after work 2 days a week, and practicing in any spare time I have, and saving up for product out of my work pay and savings; but my plans are big. π€
For the time being, during our current global financial situation, I plan to practice and perfect my craft at a considerably reduced price (literally to cover my materials) on a casual basis. I do hope that as time goes on that I can bring some of you with me as clients and one day do this full time! π₯³
I hope to specialise in the health of your natural nails, and strive to create an inclusive space where any person regardless of age or gender is welcome - even if it's just a tidy up π
As I become competent with each service, and accumulate resources, I will start taking bookings. More info to come, and stick around to follow me from the very beginning! (No joke, my very first practical is this week π€©)
Much love, and Stay Divine
