And I've been thinking about what “selfcare” actually looks like.

Because I don't think it has to be an hour-long ritual, a green smoothie or finally becoming the sort of woman who meditates at 5am. 😂

Sometimes it's much smaller than that.

Five quiet minutes with your skincare.
Drinking your coffee while it's still hot.
Going for a walk because you feel like it.
Putting your phone down and doing absolutely nothing for ten minutes.

Whatever gives you something back.

For me, skincare is one of those little moments.

I love those few minutes in the morning when something smells beautiful, feels gorgeous on my skin and I'm doing something that's just for me.

Nothing groundbreaking.

Just a little thing that feels good.

And I think September could do with more of those. ❤️

Do you ever feel guilty taking five minutes for yourself?

Yesterday, I was sitting on the couch playing Candy Crush when one of our little dogs, Snow, jumped up beside me.

She wanted cuddles.

Kisses.

Attention.

I told her, "I'm busy."

The second the words came out of my mouth...

I felt guilty.

It made me realise how easily we feel guilty for doing something just for ourselves.

Whether it's reading a book.

Having a cup of tea.

Doing our skincare.

Or yes... even playing Candy Crush.

Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing that everyone else's needs should come before our own.

Maybe today is a good day to spend five minutes looking after you. 🤍
