Council wishes to advise that a small portion of Jachmann Road, between the Fisher Road and Crase Road intersections (adjacent to the water tower), will be closed to traffic from 7am - 5pm on Saturday 24 October 2026.

The closure will accommodate underground works occurring by contractors on behalf of SA Water as part of broader upgrades occurring in the area.

Please take care when travelling through the area and follow all traffic management in place.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗱: 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗻

Telstra has advised that planned upgrade works at the mobile base station servicing Loxton have been rescheduled.

Works are now expected to commence from Thursday 15 October and continue for approximately eight days. During this time, the site may be switched off for periods of up to 10 hours to safely complete the works.

Telstra has advised that:
• Telstra mobile customers will receive an SMS about the upcoming works.
• The disruption will not impact NBN, satellite internet, PSTN landline services or mobile coverage from other providers.
• Some medical, personal safety and health monitoring devices that rely on the Telstra mobile network may be affected. Users should contact their provider to check for any impacts or alternative connectivity options.
• Businesses using Telstra mobile network-dependent EFTPOS terminals should contact their bank or EFTPOS provider to check whether they can connect via NBN or Wi-Fi.
• Compatible phones will attempt to connect to Triple Zero (000) via another available mobile network if the Telstra network is unavailable.

✅ Eligible Categories:
• Adult residents listed on the Loxton Waikerie electoral roll
• Children under 18 as dependents on a family season pass with an eligible parent or caregiver
• Recognised seasonal workers who provide: - A letter from their local employer confirming seasonal employment within the Loxton Waikerie Council area

The Berri Christmas Market is returning on Saturday 5 December and stallholder expressions of interest are now open.

Now in its fourth year, the market has become a popular stop for Christmas shopping, with unique giftware, local produce and plenty of festive finds.

This year's market will be held at the Berri Senior Citizens Hall.

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀
We’re also offering six free stall sites to new and up-and-coming entrepreneurs and stallholders under the age of 18, giving them the opportunity to attend the market and showcase their products at no cost. Stallholders will just need to have the appropriate market and public liability insurance in place.
