Yesterday was hard. 💔

Last week we went to see oncology because I had become increasingly concerned about Amelie. She has been constantly complaining of tummy pain, she’s incredibly lethargic, pale, has dark circles under her eyes and, most noticeably, she just hasn’t been our usual happy, bubbly Amie. 😔

After some tests, we received her results yesterday and there are now concerns that this horrible disease may have spread to her GI tract. 😭

We are urgently waiting for an appointment with gastroenterology at PCH for a scope to investigate further, and honestly, my heart cannot take much more.

I feel so incredibly sad for her. She has already been through more than any little girl should ever have to endure, and yet there are still more tests, more procedures and more things ahead of her that absolutely petrify her. The thought of having to watch her go through it all again — and having to hold her down and force her to do things that scare her — breaks something inside me. 💔

I am desperately holding onto hope that this is not her LCH spreading. It is apparently very rare for LCH that begins in the bone to spread to organs and become multisystem disease, so I am praying with everything I have that there is something else going on in her tummy.

For now, we don't have answers. We have more tests, more waiting and a whole lot of fear.

If anyone could spare some extra prayers for our beautiful Amelie, our family would be forever grateful. 🙏💜

Please let this be something else. Please let our girl catch a break. 😭🙏

What a perfect day it was to celebrate 35. 🤍✨

This last year has been, by far, the hardest year of my life. It has shown me unimaginable heartache, uncertainty and fear that I could never even put into words.

But somehow, amongst all of that darkness, there has also been so much light.

This year has brought me closer to some incredible new people who have helped carry me through the darkest moments and been such a beautiful light for all of us. It has given me a profound appreciation for the little things in life — the moments that we once took for granted.

It has brought me closer to my family and reminded me that, at the end of the day, memories are the things we leave with each other that truly mean something in this world.

Most of all, it has shown me the strength of love. The love I have for my family, the love surrounding my girls, and the importance of allowing myself to let love in from the kindness and generosity of the people around me.

Out of the darkness of this past year has come so much light, so much gratitude and so much perspective.

So here’s to 35. 🥂
To making memories, soaking up the little moments, loving harder and hopefully a much calmer season of life ahead. 🙏🏼🧘🏼‍♀️✨

I get asked almost every day what a Soft Glam makeup look entails, so I thought I'd share a little side-by-side of my bare face compared to one of my signature Soft Glam looks.

As you can see, there's a huge difference between my completely makeup-free face and the finished look.
My complexion is even, my acne is covered, my brows are fuller, my lashes are longer and lifted, my features are softly sculpted, and I just look like a more polished version of myself.

For me, this is what soft glam makeup should be.

You should still look like you—just enhanced. I want people to notice you first, not just your makeup. Beautiful skin, soft definition, and timeless makeup that enhances your natural features will always be my favourite.

Today's orthopaedic appointment brought news I honestly never expected to hear so soon... Amelie is officially starting the weaning process out of her neck collar. 🥹😭

Her vertebra plana is still there, but the important part is that she is healing. Her spinal surgeon is really happy with how stable her spine is, and unless anything changes, we'll continue monitoring everything with her next MRI in October.

I don't think I can put into words the relief I feel right now. After everything we've been through over the past few months, it finally feels like we're moving towards getting our happy, active little Amie back. Hopefully by summer she'll be able to enjoy all the things she has missed so much. ❤️

For now, we'll be taking it slowly. She'll have short periods without her collar to help rebuild the muscles in her neck, and she's been given the exciting news that she can start swimming again! 🏊‍♀️

Every appointment has felt so heavy with uncertainty, so today felt like we could finally breathe a little. I am beyond grateful that her body is healing, that the medication is working, and that she is getting better. There is still a journey ahead, but today gave us so much hope.

Thank you to everyone who has kept Amelie in your thoughts, sent messages, prayed for her, and supported our family through all of this. We feel so incredibly lucky. ❤️🙏
