This is exactly what we keep saying, you need to see what shape your gear is to know if it will perform at its optimum.
Even dog clipper sharpeners use something like this to check if their clippers have the hollows right so we should be the same.
There is no reason for you to be scared to use Expert combs and cutters in any situation and definitely they can be used in show shearing and speed shears as guys have done in the past.
We focus heavily on making sure our gear is cutting at its optimum which creates options to go up a bevel of comb in sheep you wouldn't normally be able to because of riding out.
If your cut is right you can use a thick 4mm comb like Josh Bone did on the weekend in merinos that would normally need a 5 or a 6mm bevel comb.
It just goes to show that a great cut can help in many situations 💪
