Thank you to everyone who made it to Curls Connection: Textured and Seen. It warms my heart to have community willing to learn from each other and share their experiences. Grateful to have the space to listen. Curls Connection is all about community and being understood, so this event wouldn't have been possible without you all.

We had a lovely time at Curls Connection yesterday! 🤎

But first, a little behind-the-scenes moment I didn’t get to share before the event. You can probably tell how excited I was getting the goodie bags ready! 😂

A big thank you to Clever Curl for the treats, and to everyone who joined us for Textured & Seen. It meant so much to share a space where we could ask questions, talk openly about our hair and learn together.

For the last few years, I’ve kept choosing to do things before I feel completely ready.
To speak. To teach. To put myself forward. To take up space.

But for me, it’s never just been about being seen myself.
It’s about creating more space for the women in my chair to feel seen too — to feel beautiful, understood and proud of the hair that naturally grows from their head.

Sometimes taking up space isn’t about confidence. It’s about purpose.
And sometimes you just have to do the thing anyway. 🙏🏽

On 6 October, we’re coming together again for Curls Connection: Textured & Seen, with a focus on tight textured hair. Expect live demonstrations, practical guidance and space to connect, whether you have textured hair, care for someone who does, or simply want to learn.
