15 minutes to paint this blonde 👀🎀

BOWLAYAGE is one of my favourite ways to create an express blonde service without overcomplicating the application.

For this client, I only painted her partline.

Taking her to the bowl means she’s tilted back, I have a clear view of the hairline + parting, and I can place my freehand exactly where I need the brightness.

The entire application took 15 minutes, then she was straight back up to process in the chair.

Fast. Intentional. Effective. 🙌🏼

I popped her back at the basin, freehand painted exactly where she needed the brightness and 15 minutes later the application was done.🙌🏼

Then it was back to the chair to process.

As much as I love pushing the limits of what freehand can do, it’s also one of the best tools in my toolbox for creating those subtle, enhanced results ✨

So that’s exactly what we did.

I used freehand to enhance her already gorgeous natural colour. By adding just enough interest, dimension and shine without taking away from what was already there.

Sometimes the best colour isn’t about a huge transformation. It’s about knowing exactly where to add a little something. 🤌🏼

Everyone wants to start at the ends… but that’s the easy part 👀

It’s instinctual to grab the hair, start painting the ends and work your way up.

But with freehand, your tension is what gives you control.

It allows you to create a seamless blend AND prevents the product from falling within the section.

My rule: don’t move your hand until you’re happy with your blend.

Hold your tension at the top of the section.
Perfect your starting point.
THEN move your hand down and paint through the mids + ends.

The ends are easy.
The blend is where the technique happens.🎨
