Eyecare Plus Heidelberg

People often ask me what the most satisfying part of running the practice is.
They ask if it’s the responsibility, seeing the changes that I’ve made or simply rewards for hard work.
It’s actually much simpler than that!

The real satisfaction comes from hearing a genuine thank you.
This might be in the consulting room after solving a complex issue, it might be taking the time help you choose a frame without rushing you or it might be breaking bad news about your eye health to you gently and with compassion and care.

Whatever the scenario, I always hope that you have an incredible experience with us.

Thank you to everyone for trusting me and my team with your eyecare.

Many of my patients in Heidelberg, Rosanna, and Ivanhoe describe bright lights and digital screens as the primary triggers for their migraines or visual snow.

I’m Dr Nathan Tsalkos, Principal Optometrist at Eyecare Plus Heidelberg.

To help, we provide two evidence-based optical options to manage light sensitivity:

🔹 FL-41 Tinted Lenses: This classic rose-colored tint (top of photo) has helped reduce light-triggered discomfort for decades. We offer three different “densities” to suit your environment.

🔹 Avulux® Multi-Band Filters: Backed by research from Harvard, Avulux is a precise filter, not just a tint. It blocks the specific blue, amber, and red wavelengths that trigger migraine attacks while letting in soothing green light. As you can see, it maintains natural color perception.

Try Before You Buy: These lenses are a significant investment. We offer a non-prescription Avulux loaner pair for a $30 weekly fee so you can test the results at home or work before committing.

If you’re tired of avoiding bright spaces in Banyule, let’s find a solution.
