One hundred and thirty eight grams or 4,87 ounces… that’s how much hair came out of Diane’s 6 year old dreads! 🎶

We naturally shed around 50 - 100 hairs a day, and when you have Real Dreads, those loose hairs mainly stay caught inside the locks instead of falling away. When Diane combed hers out, all that trapped hair came free together, and of course, we had to put it on the scales! 😅

She thought it would be around 50 grams, while some of your guesses in our messages over the past weeks were even over a kilogram! The weight surprised us, but so did how soft and clean the combed-out hair felt 🤎

Kim came to the Dreadshop Salon for her first partial Renate's Locks of Love install, and with all that beautiful long hair, she wanted to do something fun with it. So… dreadlock extensions it was. 😉

As soon as Kim walked in, she spotted the original Accent Dreads Caramelicious in Back length. The warm colours turned out to be such a beautiful match with Kim’s own hair!

Diane installed 3 rows of dreads and finished the look with two beautiful updos: half braid & half bun. Just look at how lush this partial is! 😍

It’s a pretty crazy number when you stop and think about it.

25 years ago, Renate started with a passion for dreadlocks and an idea that this could become something bigger. Today, Dreadshop is a team, a Salon, an Academy, with our own Renate's Locks of Love and a community of dreadheads all over the world.

And somewhere in all of that, more than 162 500 packages have left our warehouse 📦

That number is only one part of the story, but it’s a pretty good reminder of just how much has happened since those early days 😅

Diane had her real dreads for 6 years before deciding it was time for a change. She carefully combed out all 45 dreads, lock by lock, and this is what her hair looked like afterwards.

So yes, you can comb out real dreads. We’ve always said that. But here's the thing: it takes a looooot of time.

Daphne is making quite a few changes in her life, and getting the dreadlocks she’s been wanting for a while felt like the perfect fit! 🤎

She would eventually love to have Real Dreads, but decided to start with a partial Temporary Dreadlock install first. Diane installed 4 rows of Thin Renate’s Locks of Love in Back length: Accent Dreads Caramelicious mixed with a few extra SE and DE Caramel Twist extensions.

And how good does that Caramel Twist look with Daphne’s dark roots and lighter ends?! 😍 It blends so naturally with her own hair, while the lighter dreads add just the right amount of extra colour and volume.

So this time, she went for it! A new set of Thin Renate's Locks of Love in a fun mix of Faded Caramel, Caramel Twist, Oaky and two Accent Dreads: Caramelicious & Red Oaky, all in Bum length! 🤎

It’s pretty obvious Saranisa has fallen in love with dreadlocks, which we totally understand! 😉
