One of the best things I ever did for my skin was actually do less.

About 9 years ago I stopped throwing so much at it. I stopped over cleansing, pulled back on the actives and started thinking more about supporting my skin rather than constantly trying to change it.

I actually only wash my face once a day now.

We forget how clever our skin is. Over-cleansing and constantly stripping it can disrupt the acid mantle and barrier that are there to protect it in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, I love an intensive treatment. Give me lasers, needling and treatments that create real change in the skin.

But at home, I keep things simple.

Cleanse, support, protect. Let the skin do what it already knows how to do.

It’s a big reason I’m so fussy about what I stock in clinic and why I chose Dermaviduals. It allows me to give the skin what it actually needs without overloading it.

Sometimes your skin doesn’t need more. It needs more support and less interference.

Sometimes, pulling products back is key.

My client had been using a retinal regularly, but we decided to take a break, focus on feeding and supporting the skin, and let the lasers do the heavy lifting.

Skincare doesn’t always need to be complicated. The goal is to strengthen the skin, not constantly push it.
