Van Viet Truong, 60, died in hospital last week after stepping in to help a fellow retail worker at a store in Melbourne's west. He was allegedly attacked by a group of youths, some of whom have since been granted bail.

"He will not die for nothing. We need change," says Kien Huynh, a local business owner who knew him. Dtang has started a petition calling for the Victorian judicial system to reconsider the bail and impose full penalties upon conviction.
