The Pectoral Glide 👌
Open up the front of the shoulder, especially if you spend long hours at a desk or driving.
Tight pecs can pull your shoulders forward, limit movement, and make everything from lifting to typing feel stiff.
This simple glide helps reset that tension.
How to:
Place the ball just below your collarbone on the chest muscle, lean into a door frame, and slowly rotate your body away from the ball while keeping your arm pinned.
Controlled pressure + rotation = a deeper, more effective release.
Save this one for your next mobility break, your shoulders will thank you!
Standard clamshells feeling a bit lazy? 🦥 Let’s upgrade them!
If you’re just lying on your side pumping out reps while scrolling your phone, you're missing out on half the benefit.
To get maximum stability out of your hips, you want both glutes working at the same time.
This variation combines a side plank with a short loop band, forcing your bottom hip to work statically to hold you up, while your top hip works dynamically against the band.
It is a total functional burner for the side of your hips.
How to do it:
1. Place a short loop band just above your knees.
2. Get into a modified side plank on your elbow and your bottom knee.
3. Lift your hips high so there is a straight line from your shoulder to your knees.
4. Holding that high plank position, drive your top knee upward against the band, keeping your feet touching.
Complete 10-12 reps, and you’ll realize why the basic version just wasn't cutting it.
👉 Glute weakness is a major culprit behind lower back and knee issues.
Let’s build a bulletproof movement pattern for you.

🏋️♂️ Let’s Talk: Squats
If your lower back feels stiff or sore after squats… it might not actually be your back’s fault.
A lot of the time, it’s your ankles calling the shots.
When your ankles don’t have enough mobility, your body has to find that movement somewhere else, and it usually steals it from your lower back.
That means your back ends up doing the job your ankles were supposed to handle.
Better ankle mobility = better squat depth, better control, and a much happier lower back.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — and improving ankle mobility can make a huge difference in how your squats feel.

Are your orthotics fixing your feet, or just making them lazy? 👟
Rigid arch supports are fantastic for taking the pressure off an acutely injured plantar fascia or tendon. But relying on them permanently acts like a cast for your foot.
Your foot houses 26 bones, 33 joints, and over 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments. When an insert artificially props up your arch, those deep intrinsic foot muscles stop working. Over time, they weaken, leaving you entirely dependent on the shoe insert.
Our goal at Momentum Health is to make your feet self-sufficient:
🛠️ Joint mobilizations to ensure all 33 foot joints move freely.
🫱🏽🫲🏼 Fascial scraping to release bound-up tissue under the sole.
💪 Progressive strength drills to build a natural, dynamic arch.

Ever wonder why your lower back feels "stiff as a board" and your pelvic floor isn't firing quite right? 🔍
They aren't two separate problems.
Your pelvic floor doesn't just float in mid-air. It is a group of muscles anchored directly to the bones of your pelvis, your hip sockets, and your tailbone (coccyx).
If your pelvis is structurally misaligned, or if the deep fascia in your hips and glutes is locked up like concrete from daily stress or compensation, it mechanically changes the "pulling angle" of your pelvic floor.
You can’t fix a trampoline if the steel frame itself is twisted out of shape. The mat simply won't bounce correctly.
This is why isolation exercises or breathing drills alone can sometimes feel like they hit a brick wall. If a joint restriction is forcing your pelvis into a subtle twist, your pelvic floor is trapped in an over-lengthened, weak position.
At Momentum Health, we look at the whole structural chain.
We use Chiropractic adjustments to align the pelvic frame, and Remedial Massage/Fascial Manipulation to clear the soft-tissue barriers.
Once the structural environment is clear, your deep core rehab exercises can actually work.
Stop guessing and start restoring. Let’s get your body working as a single, coordinated team.

A sharp or nagging pinch at the front of the hip, especially when lifting your knee or sitting down? 💥
Does it hurt to stand upright without arching your back? 🫤
Do these sound familiar? Could be your hip flexor...give this one a go!
Placing a massage ball just on the inside of the bony part of your hip and gently leaning into the wall lets you apply steady pressure while using slow circular motions to release tension and restore better hip mechanics. It’s a simple reset that makes a big difference for runners and anyone dealing with tight lateral hips.

Waking up and stepping onto a sharp, stabbing heel pain? 🦶💥
It’s time to stop just aggressively rolling it out!
When plantar fasciitis strikes, our instant reaction is to grab a lacrosse ball, a golf ball, or a frozen water bottle and smash the bottom of our foot. And while that temporary relief feels amazing, it’s often only addressing the smoke, not the fire.
The plantar fascia isn't just an isolated strip of tissue under your foot—it’s the anchor point for your entire posterior kinetic chain.
If your calf muscles are chronically locked up, or if your ankle joint lacks the mobility to flex forward when you walk or run, every single step pulls violently on the plantar fascia.
Rolling the foot relaxes the tissue temporarily, but the second you walk again, that tight calf acts like a winch, ripping at the attachment site on your heel.
How to roll smarter:
1️⃣ Spend 2 minutes rolling the arch of the foot with a lacrosse ball to desensitise the area (keep pressure firm but tolerable—don't bruise it!).
2️⃣ Follow it up immediately by rolling and stretching the deep calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus).
3️⃣ Lock down your ankle mobility.
If you've been rolling your foot for weeks and the pain keeps coming back, the root cause is hiding upstream.
Let’s stop chasing symptoms and fix the real mechanical driver behind your heel pain. Click the link in our bio to book your clinical tune-up!

Stop doing boring lateral monster walks... 😫
Try this "skate glide" variation instead 😎
If you’ve been pacing side-to-side with a mini-band around your knees, you’re only working your hips in a single, predictable direction. ➡️⬅️ 🚫
In the real world, whether you are running, hiking, or just stepping off a curb in Pakenham, your hips have to produce power backwards and outwards at the same time.
This "Skate Glide" variation shifts the angle of resistance, forcing your Gluteus Max and Gluteus Medius to fire simultaneously to stabilize your pelvis.
It takes a basic band drill and upgrades it into a high-yield functional movement.
How to do it:
1. Place a short loop band around your ankles (or just above your knees if your ankles feel too restricted).
2. Get into a slight athletic hinge position (soft knees, hips pushed back slightly).
3. Keeping your torso stable and facing forward, glide one foot straight backward, then backwards and outward at a 45-degree angle, then straight to the side, to forward and outwards to a 45 degree angle, just like we are creating a half star with our foot.
4. Keep working your way through each point, there are 5 directions to travel on each side.
Try 3 sets of 10 controlled glides on each leg. You’ll feel the burn in a spot you usually miss! 🔥
👉 Functional strength is all about the angles. If your current rehab routine feels stuck or repetitive, let’s mix it up with a custom plan.
