I'm so excited to announce that I'll be returning from maternity leave and am now taking appointments for November and December! 🤍

As I slowly settle back into work and balance salon life with my little family, I'll be working reduced hours for the time being.

The beauty industry doesn't always profit from you feeling good about your skin. It often profits from the gap between where your skin is and where you're constantly being told it should be.

That gap is kept alive through clever marketing, unrealistic beauty standards and a never-ending stream of new products and treatments promising to reverse ageing, erase imperfections and give you flawless skin.

And the truth is, once you start recognising this, a lot of what you've been told about ageing begins to look less like education and more like marketing.

We're constantly encouraged to believe that every wrinkle needs correcting, every pore needs minimising and every sign of ageing needs treating.

But ageing isn't a skin condition that needs to be fixed.

And healthy skin doesn't mean perfect skin.

Some of the most effective things you can do for your skin aren't particularly exciting.

Daily SPF. A consistent skincare routine. Evidence-based ingredients. Good nutrition. Quality sleep.

These aren't revolutionary recommendations, and there's very little money to be made from telling people to stick to the basics.

But the evidence supporting them is stronger than many of the latest skincare trends.

That doesn't mean professional treatments and advanced skincare don't have their place. They absolutely do, and I see the benefits of them every day.

But they should complement good skin habits, not replace them.

As a beauty therapist, I believe my job isn't to convince you that there's something wrong with your skin just so I can sell you the solution.

It's to educate you, guide you and help you make informed decisions about what your skin actually needs.

Because skincare should be about looking after your skin, not constantly finding something new to dislike about it.

And sometimes, the best thing you can do for your skin is stop chasing perfection. 🤍
