The concept of the two theatre masks, comedy and tragedy, immediately brought to mind mental illness. This is my exploration of manic depression: the highs and the lows, the euphoric creativity and, by stark contrast, the crippling sadness. As someone who suffers from mental ill health, being open about my experiences and fighting stigma is very dear to my heart.
Congratulations to all the other competitors! It takes guts and discipline to enter a competition like this!
