Feeling Fit Over 50
Being 50 and over doesn't mean it's all downhill from here. You can live a full quality life as you age! Take charge of your life; it's time to LIVE!
I was sitting in my kitchen thinking 'Is this it until I die?!' I felt exhausted and just wasn't functioning. Fortunately two weeks later my son introduced me to Isagenix and I've never looked back! I realize now what it feels like to be alive, and to live. I am exercising again and making plans for the future. How about you? ISAGENIX DISCLAIMER: This page is operated by Ann Newson as an
i’ve turned 70 this year and decided i would celebrate all year - because i can 🤪
last week i had a miniscual tear sorted and can’t wait to get back to the gym. at the moment i do 3 spin/rpm classes which i now love. i started as i heard the bike is good for knees and one of the exercises that puts no pressure on any joints. i started tentatively the first class and quickly went to three. gives a good work out on the lungs and heart and it didn’t upset my knee.
i also do three les mills pump classes for my weights, a week and do five 6 am classes at the gym in all. i felt i needed structure, something to get me up in the morning and also to get out and meet people. i have my own gym at home but know the importance of connection.
exercise is good for us mentally, don’t look at age just realise, its all about quality of life and whether we have any! simple life. running around with the grandchildren, shopping and lifting the grocery bags, housework and bending. we want to stay independent. when you get up off a chair try not to use the arm rests. when we are struggling to do the simplest squat, and sitting down is one, it means going to the toilet is becoming a problem and that’s a problem!
you can do this but if you need help. find a gym until you can feel motivated yourself. it’s money well spent. i used to teach zumba gold before covid, they are all over the world and should be focused on the older age group as we don’t spin or jump 🤪. walk, get a dog or walk someone else’s who can’t get out and walk. it helps our brain and if you’re feeling down, is perfect. get a pt to get you started - because this is a lifestyle and please - quit sugar! it causes inflammation. do your due diligence and research. start slow, but start, and eat more protein. again research, we need more as we age, and even if you have injuries, you can do push ups using the kitchen bench, lift your knee or such. you can work it out. but this is your life. no one’s doing it for you!
