This Father’s Day, you could be the one who does her hair.
Not Mum. You.
Our next MopTops Haircare Daddy Daughter workshop is Saturday 5 September in Perth, and Father’s Day is the very next morning. Learn it Saturday, do it Sunday.
It was never really about the hair. It’s brushing it out before bed and hearing how her day went, while she’s still small enough to want you to.
For dads and daughters 4 and up. Just two spots left.
Saturday 5 September, 9 to 10:30am, Perth. DM to book.

Detangle your daughter’s hair. Without the whiplash. 💛
Watch a dad at the start of a workshop and you’ll see it on his face. The worry. He’s scared he’s going to pull her hair, hurt her, get it wrong. He’s holding the comb like it’s a foreign object, staring at the tail comb thinking “what do I even need this for?”
Then he learns. How to detangle without a single tear. The right products, the right way, a bit of guidance.
And the relief is off the charts. “Wow. That was not as hard as I thought.” He didn’t need magic. He had the right tools and someone to show him, and he did it himself.
She’s smiling because it didn’t hurt. He’s smiling because he pulled it off. The pride in that room is something else.
(And that tail comb he couldn’t work out? By the end he says he can’t live without it. Every single time. 😄)
90 minutes, one on one, just Dad and his girl. Not a class. A memory.
Dad, Granddad or Uncle and his special girl.

Big hands, no clue, a little nervous. Ninety minutes later they’re tying a ponytail that holds while their daughter watches in the mirror. That moment is the whole point of the workshop.
The Daddy Daughter Zero to Hair Hero Experience is 90 minutes, hands on, taught by Perth’s children’s hair specialist with 45 years behind the chair, 20 of them specialising in children’s hair and 10 running Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops. For daughters 4 and up. Only 5 duo spots left.
DM me the word BOOK and I’ll send you the details.

What a way to spend my birthday.
MopTops Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops have been named a Finalist in the 2026 Joondalup Business Association Business Awards, and I’m over the moon.
Ten years of teaching dads to do their girls’ hair, and this is the recognition I always hoped it would get. To every dad who’s picked up a brush at one of my workshops, this one’s yours too.
Hope he’s watching. 💖

Clean hair. Dirty brush. Wasted effort.
Here’s the step almost every family skips: washing the hairbrush. It sits there collecting bacteria, yeast, oils and product buildup, week after week, and then it gets dragged through freshly washed hair, putting all of it straight back in.
Remember our less lather rule? That first shampoo works hard binding to all that buildup and lifting it out of the hair. Brush with a dirty brush afterwards and you’ve just put it all back. All that good work at bath time, undone in ten strokes.
The fix takes five minutes a week: pull the old hair out, give the brush a proper wash, let it dry completely, then finish with a quick spritz of tea tree water. One drop of supermarket tea tree oil in a spray bottle of water is all it takes, and the bottle lasts for ages.
Clean and condition, then detangle, with a clean brush at the end of it. That’s the routine done properly.

Sunday night bath. School week sorted.
Here’s a truth most brands won’t say out loud: if school mornings end in tears at the hairbrush, your child isn’t being dramatic. The products are doing a bad job quietly, and the child gets the blame.
Adult shampoo on a kid’s scalp? Wrong formula. Big supermarket suds? Cosmetic bubbles that dry hair out and detangle nothing. That’s not a routine, that’s a fight scheduled for 7am daily.
MopTops Haircare exists to end it: salon grade, made for kids’ sensitive hair and skin, no nasties. Clean and condition, then detangle, tonight, and the first mornings of Term 3 look like brushed hair and breakfast instead of a standoff at the bathroom door.
Term 3, we’re ready for you.

The first head lice note of Term 3 is already written. It just hasn’t come home yet. 📝
Every year it’s the same: school goes back, heads come together over iPads and craft tables, and a few weeks later the note lands in the school bag.
The fix is a routine, not a rescue. A quick spritz of Skedaddle Lice Defence Spray before school each morning, ten seconds as the shoes go on, keeps lice at bay so they never come home in the first place.
No nasties in the bottle either, none of the harsh chemicals so many lice products rely on, so it’s gentle enough for every single day.
“But my kids don’t get lice.” Perfect. That’s exactly what a daily spritz keeps true. This isn’t a product you use once they’ve got them, it’s the reason they don’t.
And worth knowing: lice aren’t age sensitive. They’re not ageist. Adults get them too, so teachers and daycare educators can protect themselves the same way. If lice ever do make it home, the whole family gets checked and protected, and with a bottle already in the bathroom, you’re spraying that day, not after a chemist run.
And please hear this one: lice are nothing to be ashamed of. They’re just part of school life, nothing to do with clean or dirty hair. It’s not about blame, it’s about control.
Prevention is better than cure, every time. And this is a prevention spray. ✅
Salon grade. Australian made. Gentle enough for the whole family.

In case you missed it, here’s my chat on The Couch with Fred Mafrica.
We talked about why a dad learning to do his daughter’s hair is never really about the hair, it’s about what she learns she’s worth to him.
