The chapter of our lives that we never could have anticipated.

After we both lost our jobs, as two broke ass, 20-something year olds, an opportunity arose on little Gladstone St and that’s where our Lemon Laine story began.

Neither one of us initially wanted to own a salon (as we were petrified of being bankrupt before the age of 30!) but six years on…
we’re incredibly grateful for this experience and have learnt so much (as cringy as it sounds).

We’ve always attracted the best/ wildest staff and have met so many amazing, like minded creatives & clients along the way- who have even turned into life long friends.

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been a part of our Lemon Laine community!
(inc, friends, family, clients, each other and our wonderful husbands.) 💛

This last year has brought so much growth and change;
Emily now has her gorgeous Callie, the salon lease was coming to an end and, now with Shauna’s baby on the way- we’ve both decided it was time to close the salon doors and enter into a new chapter of our lives.

We can’t express how grateful we are for this experience and we’re only saying goodbye for now, not forever.

There is so much more to blondes than just being able to do a lot of foils. Sometimes less is more 🔑
We love working with a natural regrowth to create more of a softer lived in blonde.

Galavanting around outside in the elements can definitely take a toll on your hair- especially if you’re blonde!
Below are some tips to help you protect your hair whilst still living your best life 👒

1. MIRACLE HAIR TREATMENT: this is a wonderful leave-in hair conditioner regardless of where you are but definitely make sure to lather it through your hair before swimming!
It’ll protect/ prevent your hair from drying out due to Sun & pool/ ocean water exposure 💦

2. Substitute in a HAIR TREATMENT/ MASK:
These can replace your conditioner whilst on holidays to replenish dry hair.
My faves from are the Miracle hair Mask (makes hair super soft) & the 3 Minute Repair Treatment (to strengthen brittle, blonde hair).

3. DEEP CLEAN SHAMPOO:
If you’re swimming a lot or the minerals from the shower water are starting to build-up on your hair
(making your blonde dull), a good deep cleanse shampoo can be great to strip resistant chloride or mineral build-up.

4. PURPLE SHAMPOO: over exposure to the elements can turn your blonde brassier (more yellow) quicker than usual. Purple shampoo can be a great way of toning away unwanted golden tones.
PLEASE NOTE: if you have blonde hair and it’s turned green from chlorine- do NOT use purple shampoo. It will only feed the green colour, not counteract it. Instead, opt for the deep cleanse shampoo to remove as much chlorine build-up as possible. ♡︎
