💗 A little update from me… 💗

As many of you know, I broke my wrist on 15 August and had surgery on 26 August. As a hairdresser, it was honestly pretty frightening not knowing what this might mean for my hand, my career and getting back to doing what I love.

I’m incredibly relieved to say the surgery has gone well, my prognosis is looking really positive and, if everything continues as hoped, I’m aiming to be back behind the chair around mid-November. ❤️

I want to say the biggest THANK YOU to everyone who has messaged, called, sent cards, flowers or simply checked in to see how I’m going. The love, patience and support from my beautiful clients has genuinely meant more to me than you know.

I also need to say a very special thank you to my beautiful daughter, Mecedes. ❤️

Mecedes is a fully qualified hairdresser with her own life, work and commitments, but she hasn’t hesitated to step in and help me and the salon, coming back week after week when I’ve needed her. With a two and a half drive each way.

As her mum, I couldn’t be prouder. Having a daughter who will rearrange her own life to be there when you need her is something I will never take for granted. Mecedes, you are an incredible daughter and an even more incredible human. I don’t know what I would have done without you. ❤️

And to my amazing Fraser Shores Hair Design team — I am SO proud of you all.

You have stepped up, supported each other, taken on extra responsibility and made sure our clients continue to be beautifully looked after. Watching some of our younger staff grow in confidence and rise to the challenge has made me especially proud.

John has been an amazing husband, doing everything from helping shower to cutting up my food, much much more. Thank you my darling.

A pretty scary few weeks have reminded me just how lucky I am. I have an incredible daughter, an amazing team and the most loyal and caring clients I could ever ask for.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every one of you. 💕

My scissors might be resting for just a little longer ✂️… but I’m getting there, and I can’t wait to be back behind the chair with you all. ❤️

I did the day in sparkles
I would like to extend my gratitude to the exceptional individuals in my life who have shown me warmth and love, making my 50th a truly remarkable sparkly birthday celebration.
And in true shantelle style I couldn’t make up my mind so a little costume change was in order

After nearly 13 years at the salon, today is officially my final day.
To My Clients: Thank you for more than just trusting me with your hair. Thank you for the privilege of letting me into your lives. We have shared laughs, tears and so many milestones together. I'm walking away with a heart full of memories.
To "the girls": Thank you for keeping me constantly entertained! Work never felt like "work" with you. I'm going to miss our chats.
John, boss behind the scenes: Thanks for all your "Mr Fix It" advice. If you have a question you ask John. And all you did for all us girls to make our workplace an amazing place to work in.
To My Boss, Shantelle: I think back to that day at Woolworths when you approached me and invited me to join the team. I had no idea then that it would lead to such a defining chapter in my life. Thank you for believing in me even when I often didn't believe in myself. You are not only an inspiring boss but a truly amazing woman. While I'm heading off on a new adventure, I am so grateful that our friendship remains as strong as ever.
Fellow Stylist: If anyone out there is looking for a new opportunity and a place to grow, come and see the girls here. It is truly an amazing place to work, and I couldn't recommend this team more.
I'm excited for what's next, but I will always hold this salon and all of you close to my heart.

Yesterday we farewelled our beloved senior stylist Mecedes 💐

Mecedes has been with us for 9 years now, starting when she was still in school. We have all watched her grow up and couldn’t be more proud of the women she has become.

Our girl is leaving us to begin a new chapter in her life, moving away to the South Burnett Region. ☀️

Mecedes will be working in a salon in the Kingaroy mall for those clients that ever want to pay her a visit 💇🏽‍♀️
