🥲Are Your Arms Just Not Long Enough Anymore?

Finding yourself holding your phone, menu or book further and further away just to read clearly?
You're not alone! This is called presbyopia, and it’s a natural part of ageing that usually starts after 40.
As we get older, the natural lens inside our eyes gradually loses its flexibility, making it harder to focus on things up close. This continues to progress with age.
Here's something we often hear:
💬 “If I start wearing reading glasses, won't my eyes get worse?”
The answer is NO! Wearing glasses does not make presbyopia progress faster.
In fact, struggling to read without the glasses you need can lead to eyestrain, tired eyes and headaches.
✨ Don't let blurry near vision make everyday tasks a struggle!
At Picton Eyecare, we can help you find the right solution to make reading comfortable again.

👓 School Holidays Are Almost Over!
Before the kids head back to school, it’s a great time to make sure their vision is ready for the classroom too! 📚✏️

We have few appointments available before the holidays finish, so it’s the perfect time to book your child’s eye test before school goes back.

👁️ Waking Up With Sudden Eye Pain?

If you experience sharp eye pain when you first open your eyes in the morning, it could be recurrent corneal erosion.
It can occur after a previous eye scratch or injury—even months or years later—and may cause pain, watering, redness and light sensitivity.

The good news? It can be treated. If this sounds familiar, come and see us for an assessment.

💗 58km for 58 Aussies 💗
We’re incredibly proud of our very own Optical Dispenser, Michelle, who is taking on an amazing challenge this October! 👟💕
Michelle will be walking 58km for the 58 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer every single day, raising funds for Cancer Council to support vital cancer research, prevention programs and services for people and families affected by cancer.
We would love our wonderful Picton Eyecare community to get behind Michelle and help her reach her fundraising goal. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. 🤎
It’s all of us against cancer.
Please join us in supporting Michelle and donate to her fundraiser. 💗🎗️
Let’s get behind Michelle and help make every one of those 58km count. 💗🎗️
