We said goodbye to our beautiful Kiwi boy earlier this week, and admittedly, this has been one of the hardest goodbyes our family has had to make. 🥺💔

When you raise a tiny baby from just a couple of weeks old until 4 months old, feeding them, loving them and watching their little personality develop every single day, you build a bond that’s so much bigger than you ever expect.

And Kiwi really was something special.

His little eyelashes. The way he would talk back to us. The way he’d snuggle right into our necks and give kisses. Chewing on our jewellery like it belonged to him. Flying to us on command and coming straight back when he was called. He had the cheekiest, sweetest little personality and somehow managed to completely wrap our whole family around his tiny little feet.

There was just something about Kiwi. He was one of those birds you know you’ll remember forever, and I genuinely don’t think there will ever be another one quite like him.

There have been lots of tears in our house this week, especially from our little girl. She was absolutely besotted with him, and the bond those two shared was so beautiful to watch.

This is definitely the hardest part of raising these babies. We know from the beginning that eventually they’ll leave us and become someone else’s little best friend, but knowing that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.

We miss you so much already, Kiwi boy. Your new family has no idea just how special the little guy they’ve taken home truly is. 🤍🐣

Have you ever seen a boy more beautiful than Louis the lovebird? 🥹🫶🏽 His eyes are so endearing and he’s so cuddly!

For those of you still waiting on cockatiels, please don’t stress. We have new babies coming into the brooders regularly.

Unfortunately though, we can’t hold birds pending DNA results etc as we have a waitlist longer than my arm.

Baby Beaks Wellington Point also has a number of cockatiels, not yet ready for deposit, but very shortly available.
