Fresh batch of soap paste cooking away in the slow cooker!

Okay, confession time. My last batch was a total test of patience. I waited two full weeks for it to dilute and it just flat out refused, so it's officially been scrapped. Even after all these years, soap makers still make mistakes!

That's the reality of making everything in small batches. Some batches go perfectly, and some just won't play ball.

So today I'm back at it, cooking up a fresh batch of soap paste so I can get some body wash made and ready to go. Fingers crossed this one behaves. If all goes to plan, body wash should be back in about a week.

Handmade really does mean made by hand: the patience, the mistakes, the scrapping it and starting again.

Now behave yourself, soap paste!

What are you up to on this beautiful Sunday. I am babysitting my youngest grandchild and then putting down some more batches down of Coconut, Honey and Shea soap, as well as the Turmeric soap with the same formula, formerly known as Golden Ticket. These beautiful soaps also have tallow, to be extra special to the skin 🧼🐝

What’s in my shower at the moment. A oldie but a good Peanut Bliss Bar, Sea Salt Spa bar, Kaolin Clay from the signature range and an experiment with Loofah

I found a new honey supplier!Mimi Honey, family owned and operated and established by beekeepers back in 1975.

I picked up their Yapunyah and Banksia, and I couldn't resist a little taste test. The Yapunyah is really yummy, with a slight floral undertone, not overly sweet, and it smells amazing. The Banksia is amazing too!

I can't wait to get them into my Goat's Milk, Honey & Shea, my Coconut Milk, Honey & Shea and my Golden Ticket. These 3 soaps are also have tallow in the formula.

Honey is a natural humectant and adds a creamy lather and a soft, nourishing feel alongside the milk. The two just love each other.

Deep amber Banksia or golden Yapunyah, which would you try first?
