🎂 Happy 1st Birthday to our little salon.

One year ago today, we officially opened the doors to our private homebased salon and what a journey it has been to get here.

In March 2025, we moved in and began a 3.5 month renovation with a 2 week old baby in tow. Painting walls with a pram in the corner. Installing french doors in the pouring rain. Clients in the chair before the lights were even on. That’s the kind of story this space holds.

To the clients who followed us from the kitchen sink at Tivoli, you mean the world to us. And to every new face who has found their way to our space, welcome we’re so glad you’re here.

This past year has been about more than just building a salon. It’s been about slowly curating something we’re genuinely proud of and love being in.

To celebrate, we are doing a raffle to every $100 spent in salon for the month of July. Our suppliers have kindly contributed lots of goodies for the lucky winner. ⭐️

Curly hair is having a moment right now 🌀 And the best way to get that natural curl without faking it? A body wave perm.

It’s been way more common to perm a men’s mullet than do a women’s body wave. But 2026 is brining the perm back and they are now trending.

My mum, an old school hairdresser, trained me to do perms and I’ve now been doing them for years. Swipe for the full before, during and after ✨

Hi, I’m Scott 👋🏼

Honestly? I never planned to be a hairdresser. No childhood dream, no burning passion from day one. I was pushed into it when my son was about to be born and my mum needed an extra set of hands in her salon. I started washing hair and never looked back.

That was 18 years ago.

Since then I’ve joined the L’Oréal Professionnel ID Artistic Team as a backstage stylist, completed a Colour Degree making me a certified Colour Specialist and thrown myself into every creative challenge I could find. Over the years I’ve used just about every brand and product out there and I’ve landed back on L’Oréal Professionnel. When something is genuinely that good, there’s no reason to look elsewhere.

My biggest passion is photographic and editorial colour work. I’ve entered competitions, had my work published in Marie Claire three times, worked backstage at Melbourne and Perth Fashion Week, taken the stage at Sydney Hair Expo and travelled to Portugal and Spain for L’Oréal’s international conferences/backstage.

But what truly drives me every day is helping my clients reach their own hair goals. That’s the thing that never gets old.

I work from our private home salon alongside my makeup artist wife, and honestly it doesn’t feel like work at all and I love it.
