Many people blame their screen when their eyes feel tired.
But sometimes, the issue is not just the screen. It may be the way screen use affects your blinking and tear film.
Swipe through to know the difference between screen fatigue and dry eyes, and how you can avoid it during unavoidable screen time.

If your eyes are watering, it’s easy to assume they can’t be dry. 🤔
But the eye doesn’t just need tears. It needs a stable tear film that spreads smoothly across the surface and stays there long enough to keep the eyes comfortable.
👁️🗨️ Sometimes, when the eye surface feels irritated, your eyes produce extra watery tears as a reflex. But those tears may not lubricate the eye surface properly.
That’s why your eyes can feel watery, gritty, burning or dry all at the same time.
Long screen time, reduced blinking, air-conditioning and wind can make this more noticeable.
📌 A simple place to start is to reduce evaporation:
Take regular screen breaks
Blink fully and intentionally
Avoid having air-conditioning or fans blowing directly at your face.
If your symptoms keep coming back or start affecting your vision, it’s worth speaking with your optometrist or eye-care professional.
Longevity is not just about your heart, brain or energy levels.
Your eyes are part of that conversation too.
In this short video, we look at five key nutrients often discussed in both healthy ageing and eye-health support, and why they matter when you’re thinking beyond just “seeing clearly today.”

When we think about eye care, we usually think about the eyes themselves.
But your eyelids are important too. 👈
💭 The edges of your eyelids sit right next to the surface of your eyes. They help spread your tear film every time you blink, and they can also collect oil, makeup, dust and debris throughout the day.
👁 That’s why keeping the eyelid area clean is important if your eyes often feel gritty, oily, heavy or irritated.
A simple place to start:
❇ Remove eye makeup properly before bed.
❇ Avoid rubbing your eyes.
❇ Wash your hands before touching your eye area.
❇ Gently clean around the lash line with a clean cloth or eyelid wipe.
❇ Replace old eye makeup regularly.
It doesn’t need to be complicated.
Sometimes, better eye comfort starts with the small things we do every day.
If you notice ongoing redness, swelling, discharge, pain or changes in vision, speak with your optometrist or eye-care professional.

Are you most of the time working in front of screens? Then these tips are for you. 🙋♀️
Swipe to learn more how you can setup your workplace to be more eye-friendly.
Your eyes are one of your most important work tools.
But long screen hours, Zoom meetings and night-time scrolling can leave them feeling dry, tired and strained.
In this video, we explain why screen-related eye discomfort can become a productivity issue, not just an eye issue.

The good news? It doesn’t necessarily mean your eyesight is suddenly getting worse.
Most likely it is down to two things:
You’re blinking less, which means that the tear film isn’t spread evenly over your eye. This can make words appear blurry or cause your vision to fluctuate.
Your eye focusing muscles have not been able to rest
Here’s what you can do:
🔶 Have regular screen breaks and look into the far distance
🔶 Practise a few slow, complete blinks
🔶 Enlarge small text instead of leaning closer
🔶 Redirect fans and air-conditioning away from your face

That fan or air conditioner keeping you cool could be the reason your eyes feel dry and gritty.
Every time you blink, you spread a fresh layer of tears across the eye’s surface. But steady airflow from a fan or air conditioner can make that protective tear film evaporate faster.
So here’s what you can do:
Point the fan away from your face
Reduce the speed of the fan, and
Remember to blink completely and regularly
Take a quick look: is a fan or air-conditioning vent blowing towards your face right now? Drop a “YES” or “NO” in the comments.

For many professionals, eye discomfort builds throughout the working day.
But why do screen-heavy days leave your eyes feeling dry, watery and exhausted at the same time?
Watch the video to discover why.
