Every week women sit across from me and say the same thing. “I’m eating the same. I’m exercising. I haven’t changed anything. But I’m gaining weight and I have no idea why.”
For most women in their 40s, what’s changed is their hormonal environment. Oestrogen is shifting. Insulin sensitivity is dropping. Cortisol from years of doing everything for everyone is compounding. Sleep is disrupted. And the body that responded predictably to diet and exercise for decades suddenly… doesn’t.
This isn’t a failure of effort. It’s biology.
The frustrating part is that the standard advice — eat less, move more — doesn’t address any of the actual mechanisms at play. And women who have never struggled with their weight in their lives are being made to feel like they’re somehow doing it wrong.
You’re not doing it wrong. Your body is asking for a different conversation.

To the mums doing everything, the seen and unseen work of motherhood, Happy Mother’s Day. 🤍
To the single mums carrying the mental load alone.
To the mums working long hours then coming home to a second shift.
To the mums who show up exhausted anyway.
To the stepmums, grandmothers, aunties, foster mums, and women quietly mothering others every day.
To the mums who never make it into the photo because they were the one taking it.
To the mums making childhood magical through love, strength, sacrifice and consistency.
You are extraordinary.
Motherhood isn’t measured by recognition or perfection, but by the love, safety and support you give your children every single day. It’s built in the everyday moments: the comforting, encouraging, organising, worrying, nurturing and loving that shapes a child’s world.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the women holding families together in a hundred different ways. 💕💐

Farewell 2025 — the year of plot twists and personal growth. Kindly requesting a more stable season in 2026.
It sounds like 2025 was a tough year for a lot of people. Still, there’s something meaningful in the growth, the lessons learned the hard way, and the resilience it took just to keep going. And even in the heaviness, there were happy moments worth holding onto. ✨ Growth isn’t gentle, but maybe remembering both the pain and the beauty is what carries us toward something brighter.
Here’s to a brighter, calmer, and happier 2026 for all! 💛

Merry Christmas! 🎄 Wishing you nothing but happiness this festive season. ✨
Some stories live in the shadows — misunderstood, overlooked, or unspoken. Stepping outside my comfort zone to speak about the intersection of menopause and ADHD reminded me how powerful open conversations can be — and of the gentle truth that a mind that works differently is not flawed, only misunderstood.
“The Fog and The Fury” is a podcast worth exploring for anyone navigating perimenopause and ADHD. It brings together experts — doctors, researchers, coaches — to shed light on experiences that deserve to be heard and understood. It was a privilege to be part of it.
