Whilst wearing a flower on your ear is commonly done by all Pacifika Islanders wearing an "Ei Katu" or in my dialect a "Tãrae" (rae means forehead and so sits across the forehead) often means you'll be recognized as a Cook Islander ❤️✨️🌺

They may look simple enough to make but it isn't actually that easy especially if you don't have your own garden of fresh flowers as well as the time to make them so that's why we value them and wearing one often makes us feel like Princesses and Queens hence their nickname of being called a ️Crown✨️

The red poppy (Flanders poppy) is a premier symbol of military remembrance for those who died in service, particularly on Anzac or Remembrance Day ✨️Even though I didn't make this one, I do intend to learn.

It was given to me by a lady who I'd like to call a Spirit Sister as we were both serving in a Family History and Genealogy Relief Society activity at the time. Because she was admiring my flowers so much I gifted her one and despite my objections she gave me this Poppy flower❤️

I recently reminded my children of what Anzac Day is about and how it is an important part of our Family History, not only about honoring those who are gone but also those who continue to serve including their uncle in NZ.

Today I was very privileged to read out their Great-grandfathers name among many others from my homeland Mangaia at our Australia Cook Island Remembrance Service here in Sydney today.

I have collected a few fans over my lifetime and finally have added one of my own customised pieces to that collection.

One day I hope to make my own fans but for now just decorating them will have to do to satisfy my creative thirst which is on overdrive at the moment 🤣🤣🤦‍♀️🙏🌼🎉✨️🤦‍♀️

Hibiscus flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa) possess potent medicinal properties, primarily acting as a natural antihypertensive, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory agent.

Rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins, they help lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, manage blood sugar, support liver health, and aid in weight management.

When I was pregnant with my second child I was a little bit naive and drank a Fijian drink made from hibiscuses which I wasn't sure would have much effect but boy oh boy my contractions increased and not long after that my daughter was born.

I never touched local medicines in pregnancy ever again 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣🤣

During my recent trip to New Zealand one of the highlights was getting to spend time with my Aunt Bev and Aunt KC.

I was blessed to have had so much time in my childhood to be around family in Christchurch and Rangiora but unfortunately not in my adulthood so all I wanted to do was wait on them both and do some "Niece" duties and sharing my gifts woth them means they have something if me with them. I waa enjoying my time so much I totally forgot to get a photo of us all wearing our "Teardrops" ❤️

She picked these beautiful Hydrangeas from her garden and they're giving me another idea already that I can't wait to create🌺

Unfortunately I couldn't visit Aunt Dinah and even more heartbreaking I didnt get to see Aunt Marlene. Next time I'm down I will make sure to have more Blooming Beauties to share 🕊🌹🌺🌼🌸

I've been quiet but I've been busy creating new products 😉👌✨️😎

It's been challenging with our Market Launch being postponed and deferred due to things that have been out of our control but I think we finally have a date locked in and we're so excited. We will release the date soon❤️✨️💞

One of the many joys I've had in life is developing my love for making head eis or "Crowns" as I'd like to call them🌺

Often at the market back in Raro quite a few tourists asked me for artificial crowns that they could take home on the plane or that the price would be worth paying to be able to wear it again and again🌺

Even though I strongly stood my ground as I don't think anyone should compare anything to the beauty and fragrance of real flowers I eventually came to appreciate artifical crowns myself especially for my own trips overseas and even more so now as I live in a country where I can't just pick the flowers off the side of the road🤣😍

Even though I prefer fresh flowers and will continue to make then when I can it's time for me to expand my brand to include my own line of Maitas Crowns ❤️✨️🌺
