When you’re as fair as Maggie, being told that Soft Sculpt Brows (my version of shading/ombré brows) is the best option for your skin can feel a little daunting.

When I mention this to some ladies, they instantly imagine the dreaded “black brows” and that they’re about to end up with the brows of their worst nightmares 😅

For Maggie, I chose Soft Sculpt Brows because she has very fair colouring and slightly textured skin. If I had created hair strokes, I don’t believe the shape would have held as well long term.

The first photo shows Maggie’s healed brows before her touch up. And honestly… I wouldn’t want them darker. This is the perfect healed result for her.

For longevity, I added the same colour at her touch up (just diluted) to help the pigment last a little longer while still keeping everything soft and natural.

The goal is always for brows to compliment your face.

The second photo contains two Maggies 🥰, but the main purpose is to show you Maggie straight after her touch up. These brows are freshly finished, so they will soften and fade during the healing process.

Maggie no longer needs to draw on her brows twice a day. But if she is jazzing herself up to go out, she knows exactly where to add a bit more pencil.

These brows are perfect for every day wear. ❤️

It’s not every day a pair of brows like these present themselves.

The natural hair flow was a little bit wild (but in the best way). They are full, beautiful brows that already had so much going for them.

The only thing letting them down were a few little gaps.

I added hair strokes where the natural brow hairs wanted to flow, then introduced soft shading through the middle of the brow to bring back that fullness and create a more balanced shape.

The goal wasn’t to change these brows, it was to fill them in while looking like nothing had happened.

This one was very satisfying 👩🏻‍🎨

How do you choose the right brow artist?

Do you choose based on location and who is closest to you? Or do you choose based on price?

When it comes to cosmetic tattooing, I would choose neither.

I would choose an artist whose clients look like me and whose results are what I want to achieve. If you have sparse brows, look at their work on clients with sparse brows. If you want soft and natural, make sure that’s what fills their portfolio.

Prices vary wildly. Brow tattooing can range anywhere from $250 to $2000, particularly in larger cities like Sydney. I would say I sit somewhere in the middle of that range. But price alone doesn’t tell you whether someone is the right fit for you.

The best artist isn’t necessarily the cheapest, the most expensive, or the closest. The best artist is the one consistently creating results on people like you that make you stop scrolling and think, “That’s exactly what I want.”

Do your research, take your time, and remember—you’ll wear your brows every day, long after you’ve forgotten how much fuel it took to get there. 😊

If you want these type or brows, it’s called Hair Stroke Brows, there is a link in my bio book 🤗

5 Reasons why I may have sabotaged my own business this year. 😅

The Healing Process

Day 2 and still out living life, seeing people, and doing all the normal things. 😊

Those who have had their brows tattooed know that at around days 2–5, the brows can appear a little darker as the pigment oxidises during healing.

Those who haven’t had their brows tattooed often imagine they’ll need to hide away for a week and avoid seeing anyone.

The reality? A lot of that depends on your artist, their technique, and how the brows are designed and implanted.

This is day 2 of healing, and I think it looks pretty good! The brows are slightly darker than they will be once healed, but they’re nowhere near as dramatic or scary as people often imagine.

The healing journey is all part of the process, and in most cases, it’s far less intimidating than your mind tells you it will be.

🚨 Tiny business owner update 🚨

I’ve made a small change to my cancellation policy.

Not because I enjoy writing cancellation policies, but because apparently my mortgage company still expects to be paid even when someone changes their mind at the last minute.

The extra notice gives me a better chance of filling appointments when cancellations happen, which makes a huge difference to a small business like mine.

So, from now on:

7+ days notice to cancel or reschedule – deposit is forfeited
Less than 72 hours notice – 50% of appointment fee payable
Less than 24 hours notice or no show – 100% of appointment fee payable

It genuinely pains me to have a policy like this because I know life happens. But last-minute cancellations have a big impact on my business, and this helps keep the doors open.

Thank you to all of my wonderful clients who continue to support my little business. ❤️

When Less Is More 😍

These photos show the stages of combining Soft Sculpt Brows with a Lashline Enhancement.

Before → Healed → Touched Up

When I create Soft Sculpt Brows (my version of shading/Ombre brows), my goal is always a soft, natural finish. I don’t want people looking at your face and immediately noticing you’ve had your brows tattooed. Instead, I want them to see beautifully shaped brows that subtly frame your face, creating structure, balance, and lift.

The beauty of Soft Sculpt Brows is that they give you a defined foundation without looking heavy or overdone. On those days when you want a little more glam, you’ll know exactly where to add brow pencil for extra definition.

For an even better result, grab yourself a tinted brow mascara. It adds texture and dimension to your natural brow hairs, creating a gorgeous 3D effect while your Soft Sculpt Brows do all the hard work underneath.

Consultations are always part of your appointment.

I don’t just do my own thing and send you on your way when I’m finished. Every set of brows is designed with your input, your goals, and your comfort level in mind.

My client wanted to fill out her brows while keeping them soft, natural. Nothing obvious, nothing overdone.

As she had travelled to see me, it was especially important that we were both confident in the plan before we started.

I always complete a thorough pre draw, including sketching in hair strokes, to give you a clear indication of the shape and overall result. Keep in mind that the pre draw often looks a little larger and bolder than the finished brows, which is completely normal.

This is the perfect beginning to a brow journey, starting conservatively, building trust, by creating brows that still feel like you.

Most importantly, my client walked out feeling confident, comfortable, and happy with what she saw in the mirror. ❤️
