Menopause literacy is the ability to find, understand, evaluate and use reliable information about perimenopause and menopause so you can make informed decisions about your health.
And we think it’s one of the most important — and least discussed — issues in women’s health.
Awareness tells you menopause exists. Literacy helps you navigate it. And those aren’t the same thing.
It’s not about becoming your own doctor or memorising every hormone pathway before breakfast. It’s about having enough knowledge to understand what may be happening, recognise when something needs proper investigation, find credible information, understand your options and ask better questions about your own health.
Perhaps the goal isn’t to tell women what to think about menopause. Perhaps it’s to give women the knowledge to think for themselves.

Spontaneous? Absolutely. Just give me 3–5 business days to mentally prepare. 🫣
We don't particularly want to age gracefully.
We want to age adventurously. Curiously. Strongly. And with a lot of laughter.
But today, on World Menopause Day, we're talking about something less glamorous: chronic pain.
Joint pain, muscle aches and persistent discomfort can be part of the menopause experience. And they deserve more attention than they get.
Because we want to keep doing the things we love for as long as possible. And that's why better education, more research and proper support for women matter so much.
Here's to more conversations, more understanding, better support and a whole lot more joy. 💗
Happy World Menopause Day.
Apparently collagen helps you lose weight now. Who knew? 🙃
The internet is full of big promises, beautiful skin and very convincing people with very large followings.
But a good ring light isn't scientific evidence.
Before buying supplements, check the label. In Australia, look for an AUST L number. It means the product is listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and subject to TGA requirements.
That means…The claims made are only those allowed for each ingredient based on the scientific evidence, and the products meet all regulatory standards in production and advertising.
At Eir, we believe women deserve better than ridiculous promises dressed up as science.
Less hype. More evidence. Always. 💗
Menopause isn’t the beginning of the end, ladies. Far from it. 😉
We’re all for better conversations, better information and women feeling confident about what comes next.
There’s still so much life to live, and we’re only getting started. 💛
Who’s with us? 🙌

Menopause facts we really should’ve been told before we found ourselves Googling them at 2am. 😂
Yes, menopause is technically one day. Yes, you can still get pregnant in perimenopause. Yes, brain fog is a real and commonly reported experience. And no, every new thing that happens to your body after 40 should not automatically be filed under “probably menopause.”
The more we know, the better questions we can ask, the better conversations we can have with our doctors, and the better we can look after our future selves.
Because menopause literacy isn’t about becoming an expert.
It’s about knowing enough to not be blindsided. 💗

Some friendships reach the point where no explanation is required. 😂
“I’m too hot.”
“I didn’t sleep.”
“Nothing fits.”
“I agreed to plans and now deeply regret it.”
And the correct response is simply: “I get it.”
Perimenopause is a lot easier when you have a Kate on the other end of the text. ❤️
Tag your Kate — the woman who gets it without needing the full story. 🫣
There comes a point where you realise you don’t actually have to pretend to enjoy things anymore. 😂
Underwire? No thanks.
Dinner at 8:30pm? Absolutely not.
A restaurant where we have to scream across the table? We’ll pass.
One of the great joys of being over 40: “No thanks” is a complete sentence.
What have you officially stopped pretending to enjoy? 👇
When was the last time you asked someone how they were doing… and actually waited for the answer?
We’re pretty good at saying “I'm fine.” Even when we're absolutely not.
And as women, we're often so busy being the ones who hold everything together that we forget we're allowed to need a little holding together ourselves.
Today is World Mental Health Day, and while I love that we're talking more openly about mental health, I think we need to get better at doing something about it.
Rather than sharing an inspirational quote or a reminder to practise self-care, let’s have an actual conversation. A phone call. A coffee. Checking in on the friend who always seems to have her s**t together.
Because sometimes the people who look like they're coping are the ones who need us most.
So here's my challenge to you today. Reach out to one person. Ask how they really are. And make time to listen.
It might mean more than you know. ❤
