A little reminder that tattooed brows still deserve some love. My client already had cosmetic brow tattooing (swipe to see the before), but a brow lamination and tint added softness, texture, and definition that tattooing alone can’t achieve.
The result? Fuller-looking, beautifully styled brows that frame the face and enhance the eyes effortlessly.

Grey, but make it intentional. Softly blended, low - maintenance colour that works with your natural grey, not against it.

Embracing grey doesn’t have to mean going fully grey. Grey blending creates a softer, more seamless transition with less commitment and beautiful dimension.

It’s time to talk about female hair loss.

Over the past 12 months, there’s been a noticeable increase in women experiencing excessive shedding and thinning.

I myself went through a period of stress related hair loss in mid 2025 and my hair is slowly recovering.

In this post, we explore some of the common non-medical reasons this can happen, and practical ways to support healthier hair and scalp function.

This post does not cover medical hair loss conditions such as chemotherapy-related loss or alopecia, which require specialist care.

Hair loss is often multi-factorial, involving stress, lifestyle, nutrition, scalp health, and styling habits, and understanding the bigger picture can make a real difference.

What has helped you most with hair shedding or thinning?

Blonde Balayage - A colour concept that is based on the idea of a natural, lived in blonde. Usually with the clients natural colour through the top and lighter on the ends. A great process for people that want big impact but don’t want to be at the salon every month.
Unless you are someone who wants to be blonde from the roots, there is no reason why you should have to get this colour maintained regularly. But unless you have a colourist willing to invest the time and effort it takes to be blonde enough, you’ll find yourself visiting the salon more than you should, and be always left feeling like the results are underwhelming.

Like sands through the hourglass… these are the days of our lives ⏳

I can’t believe it’s been 2.5 years working alongside Cathy at ♥️ but this chapter is coming to a close as she begins a major renovation of the salon and her home above. With her temporarily closing the salon and moving off site, it’s time for me to settle into a new space just down the road.

As someone who secretly thrives on change, I’m really excited for what’s next… but it’s definitely bittersweet. I’ll miss Cathy, the beautiful space, the cats, the impeccable selfie lighting, and the calm, grounding energy that made Maine & Mane feel so special.

Cathy, thank you for being such a thoughtful and forward-thinking salon owner, always looking out for everyone around you and creating something truly beautiful.

Thank you for the last 2.5 years ♥️🌹
Here’s to the next chapter ✨
