Do you think I hit the brief well?

I always send my brides a little prep guide before the big day.
It includes a timeline, skincare routine, and a few personal recommendations, all to help them feel a little less overwhelmed leading up to the wedding.

So when I arrived on her big day and the first thing she said was,"I used the skincare you recommended and I LOVE it!”

Her skin was glowing… and I swear that already does half my job for me 😂

Makeup is a guessing game. Hear me out 👇👇
This beautiful Russian mama booked me for makeup and hair for a friend's wedding.
When we were chatting before the appointment, she came across a little demanding...
She sent me tons of pictures, and no matter what I recommended, I’d get replies like:
“𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.” 😨😨

I was nervous, wondering if she might be hard to please...
But when I met her in person, she was actually very sweet and lovely.
The truth is, she’s Russian and only moved to Australia not long ago 🤷‍♀️
She understands English perfectly, but expressing herself is a different story...

She emphasized two things:
“𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧” and “𝐍𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬.”

So I asked more questions:
“𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐮𝐩?”
“𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞?”
“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤?”

From what I gathered, she had just had a baby and was feeling a little less confident.
Hormone changes had made her skin sensitive with red marks.
She just wanted to 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 💔💔

Here’s what I decoded:

“𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧” = a glowy, light-coverage base
“𝐍𝐨 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬” = go easy on the powder
“𝐍𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠” = soft glam that enhances natural beauty

It definitely takes some 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 (𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞!) to play the makeup guessing game 😂

By the end of the appointment she looked absolutely stunning like a model...

Her baby is only 4 weeks old so she is pretty exhausted. All she wanted was just to look a bit brighter and fresher. It's really nice that I'm able to make a new mumma feeling good and pretty 🥰🥰

This pretty girl is getting married at March so she decided to go get her brow tattoo. However they turn out a bit darker and harsher than what she wanted. Luckly I managed to changed the colour and shape a bit so they look more natural now.
A lot of bride-to-be dont know that most of the MUA actually prefer their clients to not have tattoo brows or lashes done. It's just much harder to handle when the brow shape are not suitable to the makeup style they are doing or even sparing lashes 🤷‍♀️
