The cancer was almost 3 times the size that was measured via ultrasound and mammogram 😳

When we first found it, they thought the tumor was about 2 cm. Now we know it’s actually 7 x 3 x 2 cm—and 3 cm of it is aggressive cancer. Unfortunately, that means I start chemo in a couple of weeks.
I meet the oncologist on Monday to plan.

I definitely didn't think it would end up that way, but this isn't like end like we hoped 😮‍💨

To give you more insight for the people who want to know or understand the difference between cancers - my tumour was found with HER2-positive cancer, which are way more aggressive. The cells have extra HER2 proteins, which make them grow faster (hence the shock, because it was only diagnosed about 8 weeks ago).

Unlike hormone-positive cancers that rely on estrogen or progesterone, HER2 cancers don’t respond to hormone-blocking treatments. Instead, they’re treated with targeted therapies like chemotherapy and immuno-therapy, which specifically block HER2 receptors. This difference in biology means a more aggressive approach is often necessary, which is why my plan is shifting now. 💔

Ill be out of the clinic more and resting between treatments. If im feeling ok to come in, i can announce it. However, if youd just like to go on the waitlist them you definitely can do. Just DM us if you can't find the waitlist on our booking system.

I HAVE A CONFESSION...
As the surgery date got closer and closer, I became more and more scared and nervous 😓

It was a big surgery!
I made a video or two to post on here with updates, progress, surgery decisions - but I just couldn't bring myself to make the edits or even just post the damn thing.

Anyway - here is the update after surgery last Wednesday! All went well so far, but please put cross your fingers with me on the hopes that the biopsy of the tumour and the lymph node that was removed is nothing to be of concern fingers 🤞
