Scars often heal with a bright white appearance because the area has lost its normal melanin (what gives your skin its own colour) and the collagen fibres sit disrupted and densely in the dermis. Scar revision needling works by creating controlled micro‑injury to stimulate the body’s natural healing response, encouraging collagen, improved texture and for some gradual repigmentation.

In this image, you can see three stages of the same scar:

• Initial stage: the scar appears very white
• Mid‑stage: pigment has begun returning and the scar looks more blended with surrounding skin.
• Straight after tattooing: the scar is red with slight swelling, exactly what we want to see. This shows the skin has been stimulated correctly and is entering its healing and remodelling phase.

Scar revision needling is a progressive treatment. Each session builds on the last. I prefer your body to make its own changes first and camouflage comes after to further blend where needed.
