Effective from 1st July 2023, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) and Medical Board of Australia have implemented a series of new regulations aimed at enhancing the safety and quality of the practice of cosmetic medicine.

These reforms encompass heightened assessments of patient suitability and a more comprehensive approach to providing patients with the necessary information for informed consent

At Beau Aesthetics, there will be some new changes in the way we consent & screen you for procedures. Stricter advertising guidelines applies.

What does this mean for you?
1. Informed Consent: Our new consent forms will now include financial consent, which outlines the cost associated with your procedure. You will also receive a copy of the signed consent form following your appointment

2. Screening for Suitability: The New Regulations mandate that we assess every patient for underlying psychological conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) & refer to the appropriate health practitioner if extra support is needed. Patients will need to undergo a screening questionnaire prior to treatment - this questionnaire will discuss motivation for treatment & ensure your expectations are realistic

3. Advertising & Social Media: To ensure clarity, (as we’ve done in the past) please note that we are unable to provide treatment quotes or recommendations via social media platforms. For accurate assessments, it is necessary to undergo an in-person evaluation and consultation. We are unable to share anything in which you have tagged us, or respond to any comments, reviews or testimonials.

As part of this change, you will now be required to fill out extra paperwork prior to your appointment. This process may require an additional 10 minutes of your time.

For our patients at Beau Aesthetics, we’d like to assure you that these new guidelines will not impact or alter your treatments and care you receive in any way.

Please Note: There is no requirement for a GP referral when booking an appointment to visit us at Beau Aesthetics.

Hello everyone. Thank you for your patience & for your understanding whilst I’ve been away on Maternity Leave.

I’m now back to work on select Wednesdays & Saturdays for the time being while I get into a mum/work life groove.

I look forward to seeing everyone again.
