I treated this lovely gal a few
months back. The after photos
were taken two weeks post
treatment.
With the acute swelling settled,
you can more clearly see the
results of this dermal lip filler.

These before and after photos
show a patient who was

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?
This is when dermal filler, which
has been injected into the lips,
shifts from its initial placement,
to outside of the vermillion body.
This movement typically occurs
either above or below the lip
borders.
Lips are more susceptible to
migration compared to other
facial areas due to their limited
capacity to retain large volumes
of filler, and because of their
constant motion during the day,
such as speaking and eating.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫?
Lip filler migration can occur
due to several reasons.
𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. If too
much filler is injected in one
area or if it is placed too
deeply, the filler can move out
of the lips and/or, result in the
formation of lumps.

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. This is when a
larger amount of filler is injected
into a lip that cannot accomodate
the volume, or, if multiple lip
filler treatments are performed
in very close succession.

𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
