Evidence & Empathy:
Week 1: Acupuncture & Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is one of the most frustrating side effects many cancer patients experience during or after chemotherapy. Symptoms may include numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, or pain in the hands and feet.
Research continues to explore how acupuncture may help support nerve function and symptom management.
A 2023 systematic review found that acupuncture showed promising results for reducing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy symptoms and improving quality of life in cancer patients.
More oncology protocols are now integrating acupuncture into supportive cancer care. At LifeThyme Wellness, our acupuncture physicians have advanced training in integrative oncology, acupuncture, and supportive cancer care.

POINT TAKEN:
Our goal with this series is simple: patient education.
Over the next few months, we’ll be sharing more about the benefits of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, how treatments are individualized, and why this medicine has remained relevant for thousands of years while continuing to evolve alongside modern healthcare.
We’ll talk about pain, stress, hormones, digestion, fertility, menopause, recovery, sleep, oncology support, nervous system regulation, and more — while also helping explain what makes Traditional Chinese Medicine unique.
The more patients understand their healthcare options, the better choices they can make for their health.

Healing isn’t always about doing more.
Sometimes it’s about doing less — better.
More supplements.
More workouts.
More pushing through.
At some point, the body stops responding… and starts resisting.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, healing isn’t about forcing change — it’s about restoring balance.
We focus on:
• Calming the nervous system
• Supporting digestion (not overwhelming it)
• Regulating hormones instead of chasing symptoms
• Giving the body space to reset
Because real healing happens when the body feels safe enough to do what it’s designed to do.
Less noise.
More intention.
Better outcomes.
If your body feels stuck, it may not need more.
It may need a different approach.

The difference isn’t whether needles can help.
The difference is the training, diagnosis, philosophy, and depth of education behind how they’re used.
Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years, and modern research continues to explore why it can help with pain, nervous system regulation, recovery, digestion, hormones, stress, and more.
Health professionals (Chiropactors and Physios) don’t adopt techniques that do nothing. They adopt techniques that patients respond to.
Follow along as we explain more in a series called POINT TAKEN.

Doesn’t this look good?
Your body thinks so too.
Tight shoulders.
Heavy legs.
That constant “holding” feeling you don’t even notice anymore…
That’s your body asking for a reset.
Massage isn’t just about relaxation — it’s about shifting what’s stuck.
It helps to:
• Release deep muscle tension
• Improve circulation and recovery
• Support lymphatic flow
• Calm the nervous system
• Reduce stress hormones
At LifeThyme, massage works alongside Traditional Chinese Medicine to help your body actually unwind — not just temporarily, but in a way that carries forward.
Less tension.
Better movement.
Clearer head.
Sometimes the best thing you can do… is lie down and let your body do the rest.
