PreWax Care Guide Breakdown:

🧼CLEAN AREA: arrive with freshly cleansed skin, this is more important than most people think.

Why it matters:
• Removes oils, sweat, and bacteria
• Helps wax adhere properly to the hair (not slip on oils)
• Reduces risk of breakouts or post-wax irritation

Pro tip: skip lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the area before your appointment.

✨EXFOLIATE (1-2 days PRIOR): gently exfoliating helps prep the skin for a smoother wax.

Why it matters:
• Removes dead skin buildup that can trap hair
• Allows wax to grip hair better at the root
• Helps prevent ingrown hairs

Important: Only use GENTLE exfoliation. DO NOT exfoliating the day of your wax. Avoid strong actives (retinol, acids) to prevent skin lifting.

📏HAIR LENGTH: hair length directly affects how well your wax turns out.

Why it matters:
• Hair that’s too short = wax can’t grip properly
• Hair that’s too long = more discomfort and uneven removal

Ideal length: About ¼ inch (grain of rice), usually 2–3 weeks of growth

👚CLOTHING: what you wear can affect your skin after waxing.

Why it matters:
• Tight clothing causes friction on freshly waxed skin
• Can lead to irritation, redness, or ingrown hairs

Best choice: Loose, breathable clothing. Especially important for body waxing (brazilian, legs, underarms)

☀️ SUN EXPOSURE: your skin is more sensitive before and after waxing.

Why it matters:
• Sunburned or recently tanned skin is more prone to lifting
• Heat and UV exposure increase skin sensitivity

Avoid: Tanning or getting sunburn 2–3 days before your appointment (take note for beach days)
