When we think about protecting our skin during summer, most of us focus on the obvious areas.

Face.
Shoulders.
Arms.

But the scalp often gets left out of the conversation.

Part lines, hairlines, and thinner areas of hair can spend hours exposed to direct sunlight during beach days, patio afternoons, walks, workouts, and time spent outdoors.

Over time, that exposure can leave the scalp feeling dry, sensitive, or uncomfortable.

It’s a simple reminder, but an important one:

Your scalp is skin too.

There’s a certain time in the evening when everything shifts a little.

Hair catches the light differently.
Skin looks warmer.
The whole day softens around the edges.

Maybe that’s why golden hour never gets old.

Summer changes the way everything feels.

The air gets warmer.
Hair sits differently.
Skin catches more light.
Textures soften.

By June, beauty starts feeling a little less polished and a little more alive.

And honestly, that’s usually when it looks best.

Long days outside can leave the scalp and skin feeling warmer, tighter, drier, and more reactive than usual.

That’s part of why aloe vera works so well in summer-focused formulas.

Known for its lightweight hydration and naturally soothing feel, aloe helps replenish moisture without adding heaviness, while supporting skin and scalp that feel overheated from heat, sun exposure, sweat, or environmental stress.

It gives formulas a fresher, softer feel on the scalp, especially during hotter months when rich textures can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Found in the 04 Treatment.

Hair usually feels different by June.

Not necessarily worse.
Just heavier.

More humidity, sweat, time outside, product layering. More heat sitting at the roots.

Even clean hair can start feeling flatter, denser, or harder to refresh this time of year.

02 Cleanse was designed to help lift away buildup without leaving the scalp feeling stripped afterward.

Sometimes summer hair just needs a lighter reset.

Care changes the way things feel.

Not just your hair, scalp, or skin.
It changes the energy around you.

Stress affects more than mood or energy levels.

It can also change how the scalp, skin, and hair behave physically.

When stress levels rise, the body produces more cortisol and inflammatory signals, which can contribute to increased oil production, irritation, dryness, sensitivity, and even changes in shedding patterns.

That’s why hair, scalp, and skin often start feeling different during periods of stress, even when nothing in the routine itself has changed.

The good news is that the body responds to recovery too.

Rest, lower stress levels, proper sleep, and time to recover can all help the scalp, skin, and hair return to a healthier, more balanced state.

Some oils sit heavily on the hair and scalp, especially in warmer weather or on finer hair types.

Babassu oil is known for being much lighter.

Rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, it helps support moisture and softness while still absorbing quickly into the hair and scalp.

That means less heaviness at the roots, less coated feeling through the lengths, and nourishment that feels more balanced overall.

Lightweight support tends to work better when the goal is comfort, not buildup.

Hair changes overnight more than most people realize.

Movement against pillows, shifting positions during sleep, oil transfer from the scalp, and dry air all affect how hair feels by morning.

That’s why hair can wake up flatter, frizzier, oilier, or harder to manage even when nothing in the routine changed.

A lot happens while you sleep.

Not every hair day is supposed to stay perfectly in place.

Sometimes the movement is the best part.
