Most clients who come to us have had treatments before. Sometimes several, at different places, booked whenever something flared up or felt off.

We hear this in consultations almost every week. And here's our honest take: at-home laser and IPL devices have gotten genuinely good. They're not a scam. They're just not the same tool as clinical laser, and confusing the two costs people months of guessing.

At-home devices shine for mild, maintenance-level concerns. Think gentle upkeep between professional treatments, a little softening of fine texture, or extending the results you already have. They're convenient, lower cost over time, and safe by design, which also means their energy output is capped well below what we use in clinic.

Clinical laser is a different conversation. Established pigmentation, persistent redness, laxity, stubborn hair, sun damage that's settled in over years. These need calibrated, medical-grade energy levels matched to your skin, your concern, and your goals. A consumer device can't safely reach that range, and it's not supposed to.

Both have a place. The real question is what your skin is actually asking for right now, and what kind of result you're hoping to see six and twelve months from now.
