Amongst the posts, we think a little differently here at Wellness-Rx. Specifically, when thinking about eating better, we like to ADD instead of subtract.⠀

Dietary subtraction (I have to stop eating X) isn’t nearly as effective as addition (I’ll eat more of Y).⠀

Here's an example:⠀

I want to lose 10 pounds and start eating better so I will...⠀
-⠀
Stop eating: 🍕🍰🍩... forever. 😞
-⠀
vs.⠀
-⠀
Start eating: 🍊🥑🍗 in one meal a day. Then, maybe in two meals after a week.⠀
-⠀
We've found that the more you deprive yourself of "bad foods", the more you think about them, the more appealing they seem. Mm... donuts.⠀

Instead, if you focus on ADDING healthier options, it has the great side effect of displacing the pizzas, cakes, and donuts on more occasions (i.e. the more perfectly roasted vegetables you eat, the less appetite you have for pizza).⠀

So you'll find yourself eating better without feeling deprived or feeling like you're "on a diet".⠀
