Our to***co plants are thriving! They are nearly four feet tall and have bloomed.

As shared previously, these to***co plants were gifted to us by Elder Treffrey Deerfoot. We are grateful for the responsibility of caring for it, continuing its lineage, and eventually sharing the seeds with others.

In our culture, to***co is a sacred medicine used as an offering. It is beautiful to witness each stage of its growth and to carry this gift forward in a good way.

Waniska—the Cree word for “Wake up! Arise!” 🍊

Sweet Orange brings a juicy, citrus brightness, while Sage adds a crisp, earthy freshness. Together, they create a clean and uplifting scent that feels vibrant, refreshing, and full of energy—like opening the door to the cool morning air and stepping into a brand-new day.

In Cree, we say Waniska, which means “Wake up! Arise!”

Wellness is about beginning your day in a good way. It starts with setting good intentions—getting enough rest, drinking plenty of fluids, eating balanced meals, moving your body, and making choices that support your wellbeing.

Waniska! Wake up, arise, and begin your day in a good way.

Today my son helped me repot my to***co plants, and it felt like a moment of gratitude, responsibility, and care.

These plants come from a 250-year-old to***co seeds and were gifted to me by Elder Treffrey Deerfoot. The seeds were cared for by him, grown, and gifted to me through his efforts to bring back the traditional uses of to***co.

I am grateful to care for this medicine and the teachings it continues to carry and to give it back to community.
