Massage therapy isn't just for relaxation, though that's a genuinely great side effect.
Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is a regulated health profession. Our therapists at Head 2 Toe are trained to assess and treat soft tissue issues, and they work with your specific situation, not a generic protocol.
Chronic neck and shoulder tension that won't go away.
A soft tissue injury that's been slow to recover.
Pain that flares with activity or at the end of the day.
A body that's simply been carrying too much for too long.
Every session is tailored. Your therapist will check in throughout to make sure the pressure and approach feel right for you.
Many patients use extended health benefits to cover the cost. It's worth checking what you have available.

Cooler weather and stiff joints go together in the Kootenays. But staying still usually makes it worse.
When it's cold, the temptation is to move less. The problem is that joints need movement to stay lubricated, and muscles that don't move tend to tighten up around the areas they're trying to protect.
Gentle, consistent movement is one of the most effective things you can do for joint health through winter.
Here are three things our team recommends for staying mobile through the colder months. Swipe through and save this post as a reminder.
And if stiffness or pain is already limiting your movement, a conversation with our team is a good next step.

Head 2 Toe will be closed today to honour the Day of Truth and Reconciliation. Hopefully we can all find a way to do something meaningful today to show our support for victims and survivors of residential schools and colonialism and show our lasting commitment to true reconciliation.
The blatant displays of hate and white nationalism this week at Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc near Kamloops have been a powerful reminder of why this day is needed.
As we approach September 30, a day we recognize as National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
We would love for you to join us on this day to remember those who were not only affected by residential schools but did not make it home.
There is a walk planned to leave from the Sandman Hotel to the COINS office on Connors road at 10:30. If you are unable to or prefer not to participate in the walk, you are welcome to meet at the COINS office to help call the walkers in.

The marks cupping leaves behind are not bruises.
This is one of the most common misconceptions about cupping therapy, and it's worth clearing up.
Bruises are caused by blunt impact that breaks capillaries under the skin. Cupping marks are caused by suction drawing stagnant blood to the surface of the tissue. They look similar, but they're completely different in origin and feel nothing like a bruise to the touch.
For most people, the marks fade within two to five days and aren't tender.
Cupping works by increasing circulation to the treated area, releasing tension in the underlying tissue, and supporting your body's natural recovery process. It's been used for thousands of years and is a well-established part of Traditional Chinese Medicine practice.
At Head 2 Toe, it's offered as part of our acupuncture services.
